I don't think many would fancy Beterbiev chances against Ruiz Jnr right now. He's not proven within his own class.
Why do you keep calling him "fat" Cockell was certainly not fat at Light Heavy where this fight would take place. Cockell eventually had great problems making the Light Heavyweight limit he had a glandular disorder which made him pile the weight on, there was nothing he could do about. Also earlier in his career he had to overcome rheumatic fever, it was thought he may never box again. All in all Don Cockell was a very resilient fighter and man who had to overcome a lot to get where he was.
C0ckell might not have been the most elegant fighter, but he was actually a pretty good contender. He beat some legitimately world class opponents, and he deserved to fight for the heavyweight title. Beterbiev is look in very promising, but at time of writing, that is all that he is. Promising. Based on what we know at the moment, which is not very much, we would have to make C0ckell the favourite.
You know nothing. AB showed a great chin in the amateurs taking flush shots ( from Kovalev ) without covering up or clinching and he also did it with amateur heavyweights. And he did not change aggression when hit. That Dino is a good chin AB Has a field day with Co@ckrell.
I've seen his pro ko's over ham & eggers .I'm not interested in his amateur career. 11 fights over poor to so-so opposition does not entitle him to be picked over a proven pro who beat some world class fighters. Lloyd Marshall Harry Mathews Roland Lastarza etc Beterbiev is already 32 so the chances of him improving are slim.
amateur this , amateur that. 3 rounds fights with pillows and head gear centred more towards point scoring than aggression. Amateur boxing has NOTHING got to do with the professional ranks. Can your mental capacitor not compute this very simple knowledge?? Are we talking about a 3 round amateur fight here? No , so all Aurtur has going for him his 11 fight against washed up scrubs who weren't good enough to hit him back. Does his 3 round fight with Kovalev where he took 'flush shots' automatically mean he can go 12 with him now and there is no chance that he could get stopped? getouttahere clown Korobov was another one of these invincible amateurs with 100's of wins , never been dropped , stopped etc ... Then gets polaxed by Andy Lee. The Krusher was wary of Ward whose punches couldn't knock the cream off a cup cake. Roland Lastarza is better than all Beterbievs cans put together. The cans he fought weren't even prime to make matters worse.. They were shot PAST PRIME cans. Kockell wins. Come back when Beterbiev beats somebody or even goes up and gives a good account of himself at HW. Oh and he turned down a fight with Kovalev last year so that tells you how much stock he puts into that amateur win. This content is protected
Think beterbiev will stop don some time late rounds. But don wasn't quite all bad. He had his problem s weight wise but he wasn't the worst heavy to have challenged for title. A lot of guys in with rocky throwing u name it at em , would have not lasted in to the ninth . certainly not one of the greatest brits but far from the worse
Then your opinion is void His entire skill base is displayed in his am career Guess you cant display skill with headgear on Hes also got one of the highest KO from any am boxer. Ever. But guess that dont matter either You look at his 11 fight pro record, disregard the way he destroyed them. How many ham n eggers did Rocky beat on his way to 49-0? Artur walked in there with less than 10 fights and obliterated former belt holders He also beat Kovalev and Usyk. B b b b but thet was in the emateurs so it dont count He would annihilate Cockell And he would Crush Marciano
At the risk of stating the obvious: Many fighters have had outstanding amateur careers, and have then gone on to be shark bait in the professional game. In the case of this gentleman, you would do well to withhold your judgment, until the picture is clearer!
