You're right Census' are a terrible point of reference, so I'll just stick to reality, Puerto Rico is made up of Spanish Europeans (WHITE) African Slaves (BLACK) and Indigenous, everyone in Puerto Rico is either White, Black or Native American, or some type of mixture of the 2 or 3. The ones that look white, are white, the ones that look black are black, the ones that look mixed are mixed. Ricky Martin and Benicio De Toro are white Puerto Ricans, Jennifer Lopez is a white/indigenous Puerto Rican, Marc Anthony appears to be a mixture of all 3, as does Cotto, Juanma is white/black, as is Rosie Perez, Roselyn Sanchez and Dayanara Torres are white. Angel Garcia looks predominantly white as does Danny Garcia. One drop this, one drop that, the reality is if you look white, it means you're probably predominantly white, they are white.

I don't give a damn about the culture, that's irrelevant, he used the word ****** to a black man with the intent of insulting him, he's a racist piece of ****.

I for one hate the term race anyway since its true foundation separates humans based on genetic code when in fact we share 99.9% of the same DNA minus our socio-ethnic differences and physical traits that are derived from generations of breeding in close proximity of other humans within a particular region of the world. Still identification is important and categorizing humans is very relevant and necessary for many clinical reasons. I don't want to go off on a tangent but you catch my drift......

No I spent the majority of my life around Blacks, Cubans, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Haitians and Jamaicans that did the same damn thing. I used to use the word freely with some of my black friends, I was an honorary brother at the time, and no I'm not just saying that. When I used it I used it in a friendly manner, and it was in a friendly manner when I was called it in return, I get exactly what you're talking about. But Angel Garcia used it is a nasty vicious racist kind of way, there's no explaining it away. The man is clearly a racist, he's called Thurman a ******, and made fun of Crawford's nappy hair, ad that's on top of racially bashing EE's constantly, he's a despicable c*** of a human being, case closed.

Objectively speaking, I agree, it was a racist comment, but I'm not sure it was racially-motivated, more guided by the desire to get under Thurman's skin. Now Keith stayed calm for a mighty long time during that tirade but eventually he cracked and took the bait - he got triggered. And who would blame him?

It's that age-old distinction between making a racist comment and being a racist; he was guilty of the first and the jury is out on the second. I think Angel would literally do or say anything to try give his son the edge. But he overstepped the mark, that's for sure.

It's possible to be a racist and entirely separately to that, use racism to trigger - without a racist motivation - and it's equally impossible to know which is applicable. It's a subtle distinction, I agree. I happen to think in this case he was goading Thurman and that was his intention. I wasn't commenting on any more widely held racist opinion he may attest to.
