The Pac fight is always going to divide opinion. I think Floyd was semi-shot too and his subsequent choice of Berto to finish off the five fight deal suggests he thought he was on the slide too.

Yeah the judges argument has it's flaws and they do call fights badly wrong at times, we know this. But people rarely see robberies in favour of 'their guy' so really it's a circular debate over a subjective matter. My point is his record is 49-0 (legit or otherwise) and he was rarely pushed to achieve this. We've probably only seen 90% of the best of Floyd (post 130) and the other 10% wasn't forced from him by those who shared the ring.

Floyd was definitely past it, that's clear to me but I think it's clear to everyone the difference in the condition of Floyd and Pac in comparison to their primes - Pac was truly semi-shot and Floyd certainly wasn't anywhere near that. Pac's style had to change a lot, and he was just all around underwhelming. Floyd toyed with Berto and made it look like a weird parody exhibition than a boxing match, although he clearly wasn't the guy he was at 130.

I think people should see robberies in favour of their guy. One of my faves is Pac but when I consider his first three fights with Marquez, I always say these were 'even' as I can't with good conscience say Marquez 'lost' those fights.

That's rare, that level of objectivity. But it's hard to detach, and I include myself in that respect. I sometimes think it might be as simple as we watch 'our guy's' work, looking for him to throw, land or block. The eye has to focus somewhere, you can't look at two places at the same time.

From Floyds standpoint, Ali's and others, you have to believe you're the best. Bruce Lee felt he was the best martial artist. I'm sure you have to exemplify this mindset so when I see people say and believe this, even a Connor McGregor, I'm not mad at them for it.

I dont think you do. You can gain a mindPED by believing this in training, but arrogance is a hindrance in the rest of the 99% of real life...witness floyd outbursts, jailtime and wifebeatings. Thats the stuff of horror movies.

In Floyds case he trained harder than anyone he fought with that mindset.

His status is debatable, what isnt debatable is comprehension of the science of boxing and his ability to successfully implement and blend none standard forms of defense/offense. Floyds boxing brain is ATG status that I agree with.....

No it's not really lol... Fans say that about Floyd and many greats without truly knowing because of their conditioning.

    That's a good point.

Floyd isn't really the TBE, although he was a very very good boxer an a ATG.
