Depends on who he faces. Personally I'm willing to give Davis and Usyk the benefit of the doubt. Clearly, you aren't.

Would be nice, but Bredis is scheduled to face Huck. Noel Gevor is his mandatory. If he doesn't face Gevor or try to unify against Gassiev or Lebedev, should he then vacate?

Not fixed. I'm going by the horses mouth himself! That's why I reignited this thread. He better see this thread and man up.

Fighters say all kinds of things, Gan. You know that. Actions speak louder than words, and ultimately who he faces and what he does in the ring will determine how we rate him as a fighter (and champ).

I agree, this is the ultimate truth. I would love for someone to tell him the side of the argument that I have, though. I want nothing more than to see boxers treat their careers with dignity. Even if it wasn't a beltholder and there was a challenger that was considered a bigger one i.e Gamboa would be considered a bigger challenge than Pedraza. It does get scary when someone's talking like a duck artist though in a very intricate way.

Johnny is a seasoned vet and it would be a good fight for Gervonta coming off his title win.

I don't think guys should be brought up at a snail's pace, but young champions in their early 20's don't have to fight the very top in their division everytime out. Once they get close to the top of their division, than they should be pushed to taking on the top tier guys on a consistent basis.

Not everyone is a Lomachenko or Rigo. In the case of those two stalwarts, they had extensive amateur backgrounds and didn't turn pro until much older than Davis' current age. He's still at the stage of needing to see different types of styles to improve overall. Those other 2 men are P4P wonders.

I know he's old and mad faded but Jhonny Gonzalez isn't a bad first title defense for the youngster by any means. It would be a good one, actually. Although stylistically Gervonta would dominate Jhonny in my opinion, unfortunately.

How many scrubs do you think Lomachenko has fought?

Davis just beat Pedraza, before he whipped him good no one thought Pedraza was a scrub. He's only had 17 pro fights including Pedraza for crying out loud, and in his 17th pro fight he knocked off supposedly (att) one of the top 3 fighters in the division.
