No it really isn't. PPV is the perfect model. It has an inbuilt protest function you don't even need to get irate, you just don't buy it. If enough people agree with you they'll have to rethink the garbage they charge for.
I think sky is pure garbage so I don't subscribe to their brand of mind rot. Enough people disagree with me that sky can continue to peddle their propaganda.

Crolla Linares will also be normal Sky like the first fight was. DeGale fights are all on Sky, albeit from the US. Sky still show a hell of a lot of top fights on normal channels.

People need to realise that every AJ fight will be PPV and from now on they will all be proper opponents. Bellew is not a PPV fighter normally but his fight with someone like Haye is clearly PPV.

The Brook Spence fight is the most exciting of the 3 and PPV is the only way it would work money-wise to get the fight on and get Spence to come here. Got no problem in paying for the Brook Spence one, the other 2 are debatable tbh.

 

Wlad vs AJ will be the biggest fight in UK history.

I don't see how anyone can argue with it being on PPV. Haye vs Bellew is a freakshow but it has the potential to be an entertaining freak show.

Brook is a ppv fighter just like Joshua. If he loses his title though? Doubt it.

 

No way is that the biggest fight in UK history. Had Wlad beaten Fury then possibly. Even then I'd disagree.

 

It's absolutely up there. The uk's biggest ppv draw v a all time great in a heavyweight unification infront of 90k...that's pretty big!!

 

It'll be the biggest ever in terms of attendance but I can think of loads that I would regard as 'bigger' fights. The Eubank v Benn second fight was huge for a start. Clay fought Henry Cooper at football stadiums and they were 'bigger' fights than AJ v a past it Wlad.

Calzaghe v Kessler was a huge fight in Cardiff and Hatton v Tszyu is another that was bigger than this one. An AJ win here doesn't compare to Calzaghe or Hatton's wins in those huge fights.

 

I think those paying for Sky Sports should not have to pay for PPV on top. It takes the **** for them to have to do so. But generally the amount of whining about PPV is well over the top here.

 

Boxing fans continue to pick up the tab for the ridiculous deals TV broadcasters sign with with EPL and Champions League.

 

The only gripe I have with any of the Sky Box Office fights in recent times was Bellew vs Cleverley II, the world just needs to accept that every Joshua fight is going to be PPV, the man guarantees PPV buys and you usually at least get a decent card if the main event itself isn't great.

Plenty of top world title fights are shown on Sky Sports I've no problems paying for my subscription and buying whatever PPV's I see fit on top.

 

It takes the mick when half of mainland Europe can watch Joshua/Klitschko for free via RTL yet we have to pay in the UK.

Brook/Spence is borderline PPV in my opinion- could happen on regular Sky Sports without a "stacked undercard.

 

Yeah I'm not including attendance in the assessment of the magnitude of this fight. Even Hatton v Mayweather was bigger than this. Wlad barely landing a glove on Fury totally diminishes the magnitude of this fight. I'm missing it entirely as I'll be abroad at the time and I'm not overly bothered. Would be devastated if I missed Brook-Spence on the other hand.
