With all due respect that doesn't mean Golovkin punches harder than Povetkin.

Maybe Povetkin doesn't go all out on sparring partners?

Or this sparring partner is on the GGG payroll.

It's possible but after 3 weeks of sparring someone you're going to get a very good measure of them.

As for being on the payroll, again entirely possible. But you just don't see fighters in other camps vouching for boxers the way they do with Golovkin.

Maybe Golovkin hits harder than Kovalev maybe he doesn't.

But, Kovalev has proven his power amongst the very elite of his weight class with guys like Hopkins, Ward and Pascal. Guys who dont normally go down.

Golovkin needs to fight someone with a pulse first. Martin Murray and David Lemieux dont cut it for me I'm afraid.

If you cant find the competition, move up.

It all depends on how said fighter is feeling during sparring. Sparring stories. Dont always tell the full story.

I think anyone on the Golovkin payroll is going to say the same thing.

If Golovkin truly hits harder than Povetkin and much harder than Kovalev, then it's kind of insane that he hasn't moved up and snatched belts at 168 and 175 already.

Golovkin is a product, his 'company' are trying to sell that product as much as possible.

Then every single boxing camp would be saying rediculous things.

People are putting their names and reputations on the line when they embellish a story. They're not going to throw someone like Povetkin under the bus like that. And they're not going to all conspire to invent 100 fake stories. It's not realistic.

Marciano missed most of his punches that round and a lot of the ones that landed weren't clean at all. Charles does just as good if not better if it was Lennox or Wlad. Both would be exhausted especially Wlad, wouldn't be surprised if he got knocked out because of it. Matter of fact that is probably what would happen.

I'd say Marciano the bigger man punches harder but I will say him and Golovkin have a similar solidness to them. Both guys are/we're very compact, monsters in the gym and generate tremendous power. Golovkin throws generally shorter punches then Marciano but like Marciano throws his punches from various angles generating a lot of power from them. It'll be interesting to see if in the future Golovkin goes up in weight and if his power follows.

Time will tell just how much of a destroyer Golovkin is, his fight with Jacobs should show a lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jacobs with his skills be able to take him the distance and make a fight of it. I too wouldn't be surprised if Golovkin is too much and takes him out in the mid round or even early (I think this is most likely). Golovkin so far has showed power that no one can withstand and if this continues especially against top top opposition then Golovkin may prove to be pound for pound one of the most deadly punchers ever. In fact even if he was to fall off now I think he still needs to be considered amongst the best middleweight punchers. I think Golovkin will end up being a middleweight great hes pretty close already all he really needs now to establish that is a win or two against big names. A win against Jacobs will be good if he can beat Canelo on top of that then I think his claim as one of the best middleweight would be solidified.

He will KO Jacobs. He will maybe KO Canelo, maybe win on points.
Then he will move up. You're right, it will be exciting to see.

Multiple people have said that Golovkin hits harder than Kovalev, such as Boone (like Kevin said.)

Marciano missed most but still landed plenty of hard punches on Charles' exposed chin cleanly enough, in that round and later in the fight. IMO, there is no way that Bowe, Lennox, and Wlad land those types of punches without dropping Charles and ultimately stopping him.

No offense but the heavybag comparison seems pretty pointless, tbh. It's not like they were competing with each other or even hitting the same bag during identical workout conditions.

It's moreso a reference, rather than an end all proof.
