As far as round 6 is concerned Marciano missed the overwhelming majority of his punches. Rarely if none landed cleanly. Super heavyweights would topple over from exhaustion if they threw that many punches in a round.
I rewatched it to double check because I was confused at what you were saying. Yes, in the first half Marciano lands a considerable amount of punches flush on Charles. I still stand by my prediction. If Marciano couldn't knock Charles out with those punches I doubt Lewis, Wlad, or Bowe could. If stamina didn't prevent them then speed would. Marciano was faster than Lewis, Wlad, and Bowe so Charles would probably see the punches coming long before they do.
When Golovkin was sparring these sparring partners he was more likely 168 to 180 lbs so more of a SMW or LHW . GGG does not have the one punch concussive power of Julian Jackson or McCellan but his punches are crisp , clean , accurate punches as GGG wastes nothing as he viciously stalks his opppnent. RM put everything into his punches and i mean everything !! Didn't have the speed of Jackson punches but were thrown with the same intention. GM the same and we never saw the best of him as it was well noted he had a inexperience corner like Tyson did with Douglas lost as no Emanuel Steward and it was obvious he had a suspect head injury before fight and like Tyson once Benn survived opening rounds he had no plan B. RM punched well above his weight and as i have said before i judge fighters on the era they fought not 6 decades ahead . RM definitely punched harder the GGG and many other LHW like Moore, Henry Cooper ko hw and HC came a inch within stopping a young Ali. I'm sure if GGG sparring parners sparred LHW like Cooper , Moore they would have said that they punched like HW.
Easy to answer! When have you ever seen G man drop a man 200+ pounds right to unconsciousness with one shot? Or even a 190+ fighter? We've seen Rocky do it. G hasn't done that to guys 160-175. How can this even be a question? I thought G was considered a small middle weight? Now people are comparing him to a very hard hitting heavyweight. I do understand that Rocky was a small HW by todays standards , but the man could hit a ton. G wears his guys down and breaks them mentally before he puts the screws to them. Rocky put guys out while they still thought they had a shot! Both men very capable fighters and very, very good, But no, G does not hit harder than Rock.
If you could add Marciano's power with Liston's, Foreman's, and Julian Jackson, then you have Golovkin's power punch. It's just a shame that nobody has actually felt it.
Not only did marciano hit way harder, he was barely bigger than golovkin. Marciano real stats are 5'10 1/2 and 185lbs. Marciano disfigered heavyweights. GGG is way more skilled though.
Even joe louis said marciano was the hardest he had ever been hit in the pros or in sparring in his entire life...
Why doesn't GGG challenge Kovalev? Surely because he looks flashier on a heavy bag (during a completely different workout) he hits harder and could lay waste to him. Or is boxing just a bit more... just a tiny bit more... than the c*ckmeasuring affair you are reducing it to?
Golovkin would never fight Kovalev. Never, ever, ever. Kovalev has been facing a much higher level of opponent than Golovkin and would lay Golovkin out flat.
Project much size queen? You're Abel Sanchez. Golovkin, your fighter, displays all these impressive feats. Including knocking Kovalev down with a body shot in sparring. He can also fight comfortably at as low as 160lb. Golovkin is loyal to you, and trusts your leadership in matchmaking decisions. As his manager and trainer looking out for his best interests, what would you do?
