Gennady Golovkin without the insane punching power would still be dominant!

Its not just the power with this guy its the skills some fighters have great power but if you take that away from them they become average that's not the case with Gennady!

He's got a great chin and good ring cutting ability. With out the power he'd have to become a more traditional swarmer, overwhelming guys with volume. He'd land more but would take more as well.

    He'd still be above average.

He does have excellent skills, at least insofar as we've seen against his mostly mediocre competition to date.

But if you take his power away, he'd certainly struggle more and be less effective. His skills appear excellent, but not extraordinary.

No . He would lose his intimidation factor . He is a bully that 's his style.
He would no longer be feared. Would still be a factor but no longer a
    a dominant champion.

He would have lost to Ouma and probably Brook, Curtis Stevens would have bombed him out too

Willie would have beaten him too and probably Lemieux tbh

There's 5 losses at least, so thats not dominant

Even with his power CEJ will eat him up, he's made to order for CEJ just the type of guy that he likes.

GGG has no inside game and he like to go toe to toe, CEJ will break his heart

Had it not been for his heavy hands then Bumlovkin would have lost the Brook fight.

His power is far and away his best attribute along with his chin. If you take one of those away he would be very average indeed.

You simply cannot know this for a fact. It's a ridiculous contention. Everything he does is based on the intimidation of his power, and the game plans carried out by his opponents reflect that. Without that game-changing power, opponents would just pressure him out of his comfort zone, much like he does to them now. He may have the skills to operate at a high level without power, but he wouldn't be dominant as without power the tables would be turned, both in the mental a physical battle. Brain dead thread…

He easily outboxed Stevens and lemieux with his Jab. GGG no onside game ?? you talking about a guy with 350 amateur fights and 10 years pro experience.
Golovkin vs CEJ will be a schooling

Depends how much of his power you take away, without power someone like Canelo, Lara, Andrade or Brook would have a very good chance of beating him. When you have power like GGG's you don't need to work too much on the other side of your game, you just need to develop the skills necessary to land your power so its not fair to talk about GGG without talking about his power.
