You mean like he did Hasim Rahman? Lol Bowe was done when he fought Golota. Prime Bowe would of destroyed him. Prime Bowe would beat Tua easily. Maybe even TKO him late.
Tua would have scrambled his brains and had them on toast. Bowe would be fighting a compact, powerful guy with a great chin that loved to brawl inside. Given that Bowe was dead easy to land on, I simply cannot envision him taking Tua's bombardment all night long. Only chance for Bowe would be to morph into Larry Holmes and keep Tua on the end of his jab. I don't see it.
I think the worst pre-retirement version of Bowe beats the best version of Tua, personally. I'm of the opinion you needed a pretty solid jab to beat Bowe and give him fits, and Tua didn't have this.
What the f**k did Tua ever do to suggest he could beat a prime Bowe? Go on tell me. Tua is the most overrated fighter on this forum by far. Bowe wins a very wide UD or stops Tua late.
Well for starters he bludgeoned your namesake into CTE induced psychoticism. I actually think Bowe would win a decision, he'd just take a lot of damage in the process. Bowe's defense (or lack thereof) was shocking. Nobody in the history compubox took more punches in one round then Bowe. Even journeyman had an easy time landing on him. Why do you think he was a brain damaged wreck by 28?
I agree with you 100 percent percent. Bowe suffered his problems from gaining tons of weight and then losing it. Which is dangerous. When you lose weight really quickly like Bowe did you lose fluid from around your brain according to neurologist. That is why Bowe's career didn't last long. He didn't take anymore punishment than Foreman did and he didn't suffer from any brain damage. But at his peak Bowe would easily beat Tua. Tua was a slow plodding guy who could easily be outboxed. Rahman was slower than old Foreman and still out boxed Tua in both bouts.
Once bowe establishes his jab, he's gonna throw combos with heavy intention and stop tua ala bert cooper. Cooper was game and tough with a solid chin, and bowe just blew him like nothing in one round basically.
Another vote for Bowe. Either by wide decision, or possible stoppage. Agree he wouldn't be as passive as Lennox. Had Lennox unloaded on Tua, he could have stopped him, as well. But Lewis almost always played it safe.
The Bowe that faced Holyfield in the first fight beats Tua and in fact beats a large percentage of men throughout history. But if these two were to fight in real life say 97 or 98, Tua destroys him.
