    I'll be disappointed if this falls through. Barrera's earned the benefit of the doubt from me- if a contract got to him, he'd sign it. I also believe Beterbiev is already signed on, so this looks more to me like a holdup from the promoters/management

    Absolutely. Beterbiev has been looking for big fights for ages, Barrera has already shown the willingness to fight the best.

    That leaves GYM and Main Events. Pretty sure it's GYM to blame, I personally think Michel is perfectly happy for Beterbiev to go nowhere. He doesn't want Beterbiev to get into a position to challenge Stevenson/Bute/Alvarez, who Michel sees as far more profitable since Beterbiev comes from Russia, doesn't even speak English, etc.

    IMHO we have another GGG/Universum situation here.

    And furthermore Barrera has always been truthful so far, he said he would fight Ward and he did, he said he would accept Beterbiev's challenge and he did. So there's no reason to doubt when he says he has no contract.

    Means that either GYM didn't send it, or Barrera's promoter is trying to fiddle with it at the last minute.
