Without illegal holding Peter would have knocked him out twice. Eddie Chambers didn't need any clinching to out box Peter and he wouldn't have been able to even if he wanted since his was a 6 foot puffed up cruiser weight.
Robert Helenius exposed Wlad overrated skills something fierce. Both him , Toney , Chambers and Vitali all handled Peter a lot easier. Only Wlad went life and death.

Even MaCline who was out of shape having took the fight on short notice almost had Peter gone within two rounds. Peter would not have been remotely competitive with an in shape prime MaCline.
