Why did the Vitali Klitschko vs David Haye fight never happen?

It was clear after the Wladimir fight, that Haye did not want a rematch, because he could not land his shots on Wladimir. I realised he could still beat a Klitschko, if he fought the brother that was more willing to trade shots. Why did the fight not happen though? Was Haye just self promoting, or did he really have any intentions for fighting Vitali? Out of interest who you think would even win that fight?

Vitali didnt want no part of Haye after watching him dismantle Chisora. A guy Vitali couldnt put a dent on in 12 rounds. Haye was to fast, explosive and dangerous for old stifflegged weakpunching Vitali...

If you lost at the semifinal, you not get to play in the final.

it took Haye like 3 or 4 years to finally fight wlad. I don't think Vitali had that kind of time to wait

Haye chickened out and preferred soft-hitting, lumbering Valuev.

Vitali's camp told Haye to fight Chisora and he would fight the winner. Haye fought and beat Chisora. Vitali signed to fight Charr and claimed Haye had turned him down to fight Chisora instead. After beating Charr, Vitali spent 16 months inactive while immersing himself in the political situation in Ukraine.

Haye had several opportunities to sign the fight but refused to do so

doesn't matter Vitali would have sparked him out or won an easy UD.
Haye didn't have the dimensions against the Klits and althugh Vitali wasnt as athletic as Wlad he had a better chin and an akward style and threw with good volume.

RTL were pushing hard for the Haye fight , but Vitali chose Charr instead and at the time nobody had ever heard the name Manny Charr.

Vitali then avoided Stiverne for over a year for the same reason - styles. Anybody who didn't plod forward in straight lines was avoided by Vitali.
Thats why he went with another come forward plodder opposed to a guy who worked off the back foot , had good defence and angular movement.
Charr fit right in line with the Arroela's , Peters , Chisora's , Brigges etc

No Ali was the same size as Haye, it does not mean he would not be competitive, most people think Ali would beat any big heavyweight of today.
