Relentless. Both guys but more so Ali. He never gave up on a fight. P.S. Waiting on BH to comment on how Ali sucked and this is a Marciano thread.
Although the punishment suffered in this fight has certainly cost him a lot of his health, the end of the fight is one of my favorites. Great display of heart by Ali!
I watched this fight live. Can you imagine. Ali vs Earnie Shavers was shown live on prime time tv (NBC) for free. Those were the days! Shavers game plan was to conserve his energy, pick his shots, and then go for the ko in the last 3-4 rounds of the bout. He was in a way pulling his own version of rope a dope! He nearly pulled it off. He ROCKED Ali during the three previous rounds. At one point Ali appeared out on his feet with only the ropes holding him up. Shavers was on his way to winning the 15th but that last 30 seconds Ali came on to seriously hurt Earnie and pull out the round. However if you watch that round a good case can be made that Shavers won it as he dominated for 2:30.
