boy jones vs poxton FOTY!

Man jones jr was really overrated I just wish I had the guts to bet on Poxton at the time. It was a great fight though, both men had their moments. The Essomba vs Harris fight was entertaining too.

 

What a fight !

Wont say too much as to not spoil anything but it was great, i will rewatch that one for sure

 

Maybe edit the bit about jones so people who havent seen it dont get the result spoiled ?

Can you remember what the odds on Poxton were ? Just interested as i like a gamble, boxing is a new area for me, MMA is my area for betting

 

im sure they will know by the time they have read my post, when I don't wanna know the result I go straight to fight first before I go on blogs.

I remember Poxton being 10/1 after two rounds I think that was when he started to do well.

 

Overrated? The kids had zero amateur experience and literally only started boxing 2 years ago. Give him some respect /credit. He'l learn from that and improve vastly. As dom said he'd take that anyday over some knockover win.

 

I wasn't aware of that, I was just going off the plaudits they were giving him before the fight. They should of put him with better fighters because I knew from the hillman fight this kid will get exposed at some point just didnt think Poxton could pull it off. With that being said it's a good learning fight and beats fighting another knock over job.

 

watching now, first round was terrific

 

Great fight, both guys showed tremendous heart. As for Poxon, that's probably going to be greatest night.

Jones is only 20 yrs, I think physically that fight was abit to early for him. He needs a good rest, and I'm sure FW will be able to plot a sensible course back for him.

Tremendous nights entertainment - I Love these type of prospects cards...Frank W lets have more of these please.

 

Poxton's cut was horrific.

 

Boy Jones Jr has never had the fighting skills to match the name. The draw on his record was actually a loss on my card.

I will give the fight a watch now, as Boxing Gossip also said it was FOTY worthy.

 

I watched it now, great fight and some really amazing moments in particular but at the year's end I'm sure we'll have seen a lot better fights.

 

Great fight, thought Jones had turned it round and was going to get stoppage then Poxton came again. Great call by referee when was calls for it to be stopped for the cut and Everett called the stoppage end of round 8

 

Is that actually true ?

Id be amazed if someone got that good in only 2 years, truly very impressed

I think though that they meant he hd been pro only 2 years ? And prior to that he hd many white collar fights etc, i think he has been boxing much longer thn 2 years, probably 5 or so
