That's debatable... Both fights were razor thin. Contaminated supplements which is why he only received a light suspension.

Guessing you meant "Isn't getting praise from me" I fully disagree... Boxing is a lot more than winning and losing. Bute should definitely receive credit for holding his own and then some against the #1 and #2 in his division. Then moving up and facing a top contender in a low profile fight. Bute has done a lot to redeem himself after that embarrassing loss to Froch, after many mocked and wrote him off as having any sort of future in the sport. Well he's proved the naysayers wrong....

Well it was proved that he DID indeed take a tainted supplement which contributed to his failed test. Of course this is commonly used as an excuse, but it is something that unfortunately with a fair degree of regularity.

Don't have a problem with step aside money.... If it's being done to set up a bigger fight. Alvarez may be ok with the step aside money, but Stevenson is still a coward for pathetic line of defenses over the last couple of years.

 

It's more than just an excuse if the commissions investigation shows that the LEGAL supplement than he was taking was in fact tainted and resulted in the positive test. I'm deal with facts here, not speculation. What you're doing is guilt by association, you may not be wrong but it's still purely speculative. Just like claims of Joshua being on the juice because of how he looks... Innocent until proven guilty.

 

I favor Stevenson to not ice not only Alvarez but Smith Jr. as well, which makes his ducking of such fights for bum fights even more infuriating.

 

The supplement came from a lab in California, mass contamination is not uncommon and that's what the commission decided what happened which is why Bute got off of so lightly. What evidence? That's guilt by association NOT evidence of guilt lol, there's a difference my friend.

Yes Smiths power, momentum coupled with Stevensons age and questionable chin makes it an interesting fight.

 

That's possible but pure speculation. Don't forget that Bute's only been badly outclassed once and that was to Froch, he even gave Pascal a good fight before dropping back down to SMW and going on that run. The commission investigated his claims and concluded that based on their findings that the positive test was indeed from a contaminated supplement(this actually happens fairly regularly - which is why commissions will investigate these claims) Corruption, behind the scenes dealing/bribing happens in boxing but I don't think it's happening here, not like Bute is some international superstar.. Not to mention it was a foreign commission and not the one in his backyard. Bute could very well be doping under the guide of his nutritionist, but to assume so without evidence is guilt by association and nothing more.

There's nothing wrong with having gut feelings that lack any sort of proof, but to pass that along as fact... That's just irrational man. Whether Bute is on the sauce or not... The preponderance of the evidence suggests that his only failed tests were due to a contaminated supplement. Not going to argue in circles here, I'll let you get the last word. Enjoy the fights!
