Gennady Golovkin without the insane punching power would still be dominant!

Here I disagree. He looks "basic" because he doesn't have speed, flashy combos etc. But his fundamentals are rock-solid, his footwork is masterful and the more you watch him, the more you notice little things that he does that add up to greatness. He mixes his punches up beautifully, for example.

I say he's the best guy at 160 right now, and that he'd whoop all but the top 168 guys without much trouble. I think that's a fair assessment.

Nobody "massacres" a prime RJJ. I think GGG would be competitive, yes, but I wouldn't put money on that fight.

"What the fans and media portray him to be..." Really...who effin cares how they portray him. You can buy into hype if you'd like, and start all the sh*tty threads you need to make you feel better. Fact of the matter is, fans do this for every single popular athlete. If you feel offput by what other fans say, then maybe sports aren't for you.

Yup, a 5'10 swarmer middleweight with an average reach and good stamina and chin. He's be pretty much a bigger version of Jose Luis Castillo.

Yeah but people act differently against a guy that can bang. Lemieux would not have been so apprehensive and would have been on attack mode from the opening bell. The jab wouldn't have busted him up(no power) and he would not have been so easy to control. I don't think G would look the same if he didn't have the power. Not coming forward and probably a defensive genius instead of an offensive destroyer.

The jab, even from a guy with average power, would be just as effective since as you said Lemiux would be coming forward more. The act of stepping in adds power to any punch you take. He'd have gotten busted up either way.

Perhaps , but G wouldn't be the same fighter. His power adds another level that enhances his skill set. I could see his jab still doing damage. He has good timing and could catch Lemieux all night coming in. Hope we see G having to dig a little deeper in the tool case to pull out the win against Jacobs. I want to see him get tested.

He would be more or less like Vasyl Lomachenko
