Looks like they could be brothers... McDonnell's dad has some answering to do for that Mexican holiday he took 28 years ago.

McDonnell looks horribly out of his depth here

    Round 1 Vargas 10-9
    Round 2 Vargas 10-9

Gavin comes out working behind his jab, Vargas blocked his few attempts at a right, Vargas lands looping hook to the ribs, Gavin fires back up top, Gavin trying to work his way in and land a jab to his midsection, Rey sliding in landing jab and overhand, hooks to the body of Gavin, he's pinned on the ropes, Vargas lands a flurry, a little more competitive.

    Round 2

Vargas now aiming for Mcdonnell's head, Mcdonnell countered Vargas at times with some good shots, but Vargas won this round

Gavin McDonnell vs. Rey Vargas 12 Rounds @ Super Bantamweight

Round 1. Vargas 10-9. Good round for Vargas, clearly on top although nothing major landed.
Round 2. Vargas 10-9. A bit closer, but Vargas did the better work again.

Vargas needs to win these rounds more impressively... He's in enemy territory.

    R1 Vargas 10-9
    R2 McDonnel 10-9

Cleaner punching. I'm liking those clean counter left hooks landing. Vargas is coming forward but not landing clean.

Vargas is a classy operator, really impressed with how balanced he is, he's rangy but throws lovely combos, he loves that whipping left hook to the body, never seems flustered even when he's caught. He's going to simply outclass McDonnell tonight I think.

And Coyle is complete and utter dross, so that really is going some.

The impression I always get with Coyle is that he seems to be still dining out on beating a shot Katsidis.
