Any fighter can get hurt in sparring or in a fight, it's how you react to it is what matters, knowing what to do and how to overcome is a key part of the game.
He was hurt against Whyte and managed to overcome, all it takes at HW is a well timed shot to put ANY fighter on ***** street.

 

If you read between the lines it means he's been hurt bad in sparring this go... and sounds like multiple times. Otherwise he'd flat deny it... he didn't... he tried to justify it.

Doesn't matter though, sparring isn't a real fight.. and sparring records don't count.

Lack of head movement is basically what get's people KO'd.

Everyone talks of chins, but it's really about defense and rolling with a punch. It's ****ing physics. If you don't move with a punch and take the sting off it you're causing your brain to contort more, which is what get's you KTFO.

 

This is exactly the attitude I am expecting when Wladimir beats Joshua, and it is correct. Hopefully Joshua will go on to win big fights though.

 

Having tough sparring will obviously better prepare you for tough fights. Facing adversity in the gym will obviously make you better equipped to deal with it in a fight, it's experience. That's also common sense so no, what I said isn't wrong.

He could have maybe, maybe got up on unsteady legs but he would of got put straight back down again. Fair stoppage either way.

 

There was no could of maybe about it. Martin was perfectly lucid, and quit on purpose to prevent a beaten.

 

Not really if you read it properly. He says he enjoys it as you learn more. Also says you have to learn to be slick and defend.

 

Getting beaten up in sparring is the closest way you can stimulate pressure that a fight presents

If sparring wasn't hard and tough it wouldn't prepare you to get bashed about.

So what if he gets battered in sparring means nothing. I was always gym champ but **** in fights. Nerves always got the Better of me. On the night is only what counts
