Luke Keeler has tough fight against Lewis Taylor next week. I remember Taylor was unlucky not to get the decision against O'Kane. Luke needs to be at his best for this one. If you're reading this, good luck mate, make Dublin proud.
I think you will be able to buy a ticket at door. The promotion has a large undercard with plenty of interest. Hope you have a good night
watched a bit of the show in dublin on facebook live, tough but limited opponents who didnt fall down too easily, the level of boxing from the irish lads was decent at best (except donovan he was class) didnt see noel murphy, Keeler won a tough scrap and fair play but his abilty to stop every straight shot thrown at him with his face must be a worry for stepping up levels, a good fight none the less and he dug out a good win,
puca that was good night of boxing enjoyed by a raucous crowd and fantastic main event. Taylor was a live opponent for luke and this fight could have went either way. I'll agree that Lukes defence needs working on but theres a potential in Luke that could take him far, but he does need desperately to work on achieving a sound defence. I will take much more positives than negatives from lukes performance, and also I think this night can only be considered a success from a promoters point of view. So that's keep the ball rolling and that's see more Dublin shows.
Totally agree Marty as i said the opponents were tough and gave their moneys worth which is always good, the crowd that travelled for cork was huge i was told and of course the jackeens came out in force, so all positives i hope as always that the promoter covered his expenses. Lukes fight was close but as alluded to close because his defence let him down, his offense is good and was good enough to overshadow the defensive fralities last night, but if a step up in class is to come about i feel the offense wont be enough on its own,
Good post puca ..except Lukes fight wasn't close at aLl. He won widely in fairness. The positives were fitness tough chin and use of the right hand lead. But 100% his lack of head movement and sloppy low hands guard is a big worry. Why oh why won't Luke develop his jab better? It's a no brainier. Jab jab jab! My concern is that if he gets tired in a long fight against good opposition, as fatigue sets in, without sound fundamentals a tired Luke will become a sitting duck.
