Maidana was never as good as Khan. Khan is levels above him in skill, speed, height, and reach. If it wasn't for that china chin of his he'd be pound for pound and ruling welterweight.
That's exactly it though isn't it? Casuals know Khan's name the most. That's what you need for a good pay per view draw.
Exactly. They used to have similar speed but Manny has slowed to about half what he used to be. If he's going to connect he's going to have to time Khan. Making things even worse Khan has height and reach advantage on top of youth and killer speed. This kind of reminds me of old Ray Leonard fighting Hector Camacho. Pac could just get blown out of there by the middle rounds if he's not careful.
Although he's no longer the volume puncher he used to be, Pac is very good at figuring out the holes in defense and punishing opponents for their mistakes. Given that Khan always makes mistakes, he's very predictable, and I don't believe in his ability to make adjustments, I think Pacquiao will be most comfortable in the ring with him.
If it is in Dubai, would that give Khan a home field advantage or would it be split with Pac having a big following in Asia. Would Khan fighting in Dubai which has always been a dream of Khan's give him extra motivation and add to his concentration and level of confidence? Or will fighting there put more pressure on and make him more likely to get stopped?
It's not about the concentration but rather about the habits that Khan has and failed to get rid of them throughout years. I don't think he wasn't motivated enough against Canelo, that one was probably even a bigger chance for him. He would've received more credit there than in case he defeats Pacquiao. Anyway, this should be an entertaining fight.
But Khan has more of a chance now? Less chance of being KO'd in 2017 than in 2010. And In Dubai, will that make Khan more focused and less open to being KO'd. Will he fight more under control in Dubai. And how about his return to 147? Did he focus on too much strength building when fighting Canelo, and forgot about stamina? Will he be better conditioned to go 12 this time around then he was vs Canelo? Does Khan have the speed and power to KO Pac-Man like Marquez did, or have they both learned from getting KTFO and will not be as aggressive?
Pac is way past it at this time if khan was ever going to beat him its NOW he still has to watch out for that left hand but he will be too fast and could possibly out box him or even get the ref to stop the fight
i highly doubt it will be a UK fight? i would bet Middle/Far East to try and cash in because it really is not a relevant fight...Pac is 38 and without a KO for 8 years and not really a WW(perfect for Khan)..and Khan is miles away from a belt and has lost more fights than he has won in recent years.. dreadful fight by 2 boxers 5 years past their best looking for mugs to give them a pay day...i wont be one of them
I think you have overestimated khan influence in Muslim community outside Britain. unless you are a soccer superstar, it won't have a great impact at all. I have a feeling Dubai will be more pro pac if it is indeed the venue of choice. With regards to extra motivation for khan, maybe it will, but it doesn't matter. Unless it's on the moon, pac punches will travel with the same speed and impact lol. Same fate awaiting as his countryman Hatton.
