Wilder Washington does 1.757m viewers

It's in like 100 mil households.
Everyone has this channel.
Imagine if Canelo or GGG fought on it.

 

Pretty sub par numbers, it was on FOX leading into the evening news, a free channel that everyone has here in the States. If it was a regular broadcast it would not have much of a future on the station.

 

It sounds pretty rubbish figures. Haye did 3m for Gjarbage on Dave, and that was just a cookie fight with no belt on the line. USA has 5 times the population.

 

I see people saying that since it's on free tv it should do more, I agree but not by much. People who want to watch boxing will watch boxing. I'd imagine the numbers on premium channels will be similar but lower. Wilder isn't a household name, didn't Thurman vs porter do almost triple this amount?

And, oh no, Golovkin comparison again... I think Golovkin would do more and I believe his nationality is irrelevant.

UFC FN 104 did a little over 1m on FS1 so i think Wilder did just fine.

 

People all know who Wilder is he's just thought of as a protected paper champion. Again that may well be wrong - it has been said about fighters who have proved everyone wrong before - but that is the way he is perceived and the only way to change that image is fight someone the public really rate.

Also, Canelo - Kirkland was lead in by the Mayweather-Pacquiao replay.
You just dug up a fight that had a bigger audience.

Seems to me that Wilder did just fine by FS1 standards.

 

Actually it is horrible numbers considering Fox is in almost 159 million homes in the US.

 

Kirk, well said. Those are good numbers considering how many cable channels we have lol... Love and Bron didn't play last night which helped with the numbers and the undercard was good. You cant live overseas and tell us those are bad numbers lol...
