We really won't know until the top tier all fight each other. I hope 2017 is the year, and if my man Parker puts up his best performance, and loses or wins, I'd still be proud that us Kiwis can still say we have had a HW World Champ.

Fair enough. We'll just have to wait and see. Hughie and Joe should be a goodie.

My personal opinion is that facing "no one" is a colossal factor. One of the most important factors in boxing.

I don't believe you can go from fighting relative nobodies to moderately elite fighters overnight and be particularly successful (beyond a lucky KO), no matter how good you are. I might reference Lomachenko/Salido as an example.

Peter Fury is a convicted criminal, he will have trouble getting a visa for NZ.

I think he will, in NZ we are not that strict on things like that.

This will be a close fight, if Hughie has the power to keep Parker out of range i can see Hughie getting a points win due to his fast hands but this is unlikely considerin his KO record, If Parker gets on the inside and uses his power and fast hands to open Hughie's defence then i can see a KO by rounds 6 - 8, The difference between the two is the extra power Parker has which will help him more likely win.

It would be a huge blow to Hughie to not have Peter. Or so I imagine.

I remember even Tyson seemed to struggle a little more when he didn't have Peter for the Cunningham fight.

Parker got massive hype only from the Aj detractors, they needed something and Parker was young and scoring good-looking ko's over fighters that were there only to make Parker. Parker has some skills but not enough to even out the size disparity between him and the real top hw's in Aj and dw, the 2 most dominate hw's we've ever seen.

If Parker was 6'6" even same weight as is, we'd have a 3rd crazy hw.
We have 2 hw's with the unreal size of wlad but on a whole other level mentally which changes everything

I don't believe the Fury team are bothered by the prospect of Hughie taking a loss.

Between his illness and numerous fights falling apart after being mooted he has lost time and momentum, to a degree.

However, Parker and Fury are not separated by some massive gulf in experience or class.

I expect a tight fight which goes the distance and a close decision either way.

I voted "roughly 50/50". This is good matchmaking. Parker has more power, Hughie is a better boxer.

Its a risk because H.Fury cant knockout Parker and he will be robbed probably because its on home turf fight for the title holder. But Fury is so young that he can easily bounce back, just dont know if the risk is worth it since its not big money fight,i assume that Fury could make more against AJ or some other brit fighter even without title on the line. But i guess Fury and his team see that fight as winnable.

^Of course he can K.O Parker.

    Granted, he's no K.O artist with what - a 50% K.O ratio?

But this is HW boxing. Any HW, given the chance, can K.O another.

And your second point - Hearn offered Fury 200 grand to fight Joshua. He will earn 40% of 3 Million dollars for the Parker fight. You do the math, but it is more than what he would have earned vs Joshua, if he had accepted the paltry offer.
