I agree OP. Now it's time prove your self-proclaimed moniker and started criticizing the guy in your AV for his poor opposition. Let's see some consistency!
Oh my. Golovkin did not start his carreer as a professional boxer but has an amateur record of 345/5. He didn't only win an olympic silver medal but also e.g. the amateur world championship, and he beat both Khan and Dirrell in the olympics, and he made it look easy. And given the facts that Golovkin is a very heavy handed counter-punching pressure fighter with a solid chin and good stamina, amateur rules were certainly not in HIS favor, were they? He did not look so well against Brook, and understandably so. Counter punching is his main line of defense. With Brook being the smaller guy with lower reach, counter punching didn't work as usual (timing!), so Golovkin turned the fight more into a streetfight, overpowering Brook (while catching quiet a few punches himself). So what. Those who think Golovkin is a hype job are either completely biased, or fools, or both. On the other hand I start to understand them in a way since a considerable share of Golovkin's AMERICAN white fan base has clearly no idea about boxing and just wants to see a "white" dude knocking out black guys. I would like to remind those "fans" that having a more or less similar skin color like Golovkin does not in any way TURN THEM into Golovkin. (*) And by the way, Golovkin is from Kazahstan and has not grown up with those crazy-ass US "race relations". (*) I have checked that and tried a wrist excercise Golovkin does on YouTube with the same weight. Didn't work as it was supposed to, but the strain trauma in both of my forearms is fortunately only moderate.
Brook was a good fight against a heavier pound for pound rated opponent in a high profile fight. Golovkin deserves more credit. I don't care if Brook campaigned at Welter, the fact is he was the heavier man in the ring and always has been heavier.
Then don't. I speak the facts. I don't need your spin. Brook didn't move up to face Golovkin, he finally fought someone his own size. He’s actually training down to get to 160 rather than training to gain weight to make the limit. Hearn says that Brook was at 185, but lost seven pounds to get to 178.
nobody here, at ESB, that is a knowledgable boxing fan knocks golovkin because they dont think hes good or very skilled...thats never been the point
ill just repeat this over and over from now on...until i have an iq that allows me to collect a free check from the govt "Brook was a good fight against a heavier pound for pound rated opponent in a high profile fight. Again, it seems the limit of your trolling is putting words into my mouth and then mocking things I didn't actually say. This is only because you can't argue against me, you lack the intelligence and cognitive thought. Posts like this are a proverbial submission, you might as well be bent over with your panties around your ankles. And you submit to me a lot, you go out of your way to do it in fact.
