hearn dont mess with degale? of course there is the al haymon factor there....gotta run that by uncle al as you would with beterbiev but that goes back to my point...at a certain point if you dont have eubanks signature dont u move on? u dont let it go that far unless you are wanting to fight brook
Kiwi listen, U can say " I like to separate promoters and fighters" all u want ...and that's cool...I get it...u don't like oscar but u like canelo Bottom line is this...if oscar says it...it's possible Ggg can go on camera and say "nah won't fight brook"...but if loeffler says he's discussed it you better believe it's possible and he can talking golovkin into it because it makes sense to loeffler himself
I said he didn't want it at first, i.e. GGG wanted Eubank not Brook. He was definitely not in on the elaborate scam you are describing, even if it existed. We all know he ended up taking the fight, but my point was simply that it wasn't either his idea or his first choice. Can we agree on that?
Definitely his best win. I don't get your "pretending to be brook fans" thing though. I'm a huge fan of GGG but we all know the Brook fight was lame and it looked bad enough fighting him alone, it won't look any worse if SPence beats him
The problem with DeGale is that Golovkin didn't want to go up at short notice and DeGale couldn't come down on short notice. Anyway, my point is that if Ward had similar circumstances, I wouldn't hit him for it. I wouldn't give any credit of course. I was a big Ward fan for a while, but less so after the Kovalev fight as his retirement talk + bashing everyone who scored it for Kovalev rubbed me up the wrong way. I think he would've been best to handle the controversy in the way Froch handled the Groves I controversy, e.g. "I think it was the right decision, but if you ask Kovalev (Groves) I'm sure he will disagree. We'll do a rematch." What do you think?
Does not matter if he was in on it or not...it's his career and he gets flack for it ...so not to be a jerk but I think ur point is moot Canelo takes flack all day ...doesn't mean it's not oscar who is delaying the fight
GGG dropped Eubank like a hot potato in favour for Brook. Why didn't Loeflter refuse Brook , then Hearn would have had to deliver Eubank? Lofler already said months prior that they were interested in Brook. When Hearn brought up Brook and said he's come all the way up to 160 , they snatched the fight clean out of his hands. http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/10260237/gennady-golovkin-would-fight-kell-brook
I'm not talking about ward where I wanna dive into his actions or whether u like him or not....I'm using him as an example of a guy that gets slammed here every day and they would crush him if he did something like what golovkin did Loeffler has mentioned degale and several other 168 guys where he said r hey go up for one and come back down ....so that excuse don't fly with me ....they never asked hearn ....Hearn just said brook and they gladly said yes.....loeffler even said they would have taken degale if he were offered .....to me the thing to do would have been at least ask
I've always agreed that Oscar is the one trying to match Canelo soft, I mean he admitted it w.r.t. Trout and Lara so what doubt is there?!!!? I bet if you left Gennady and Canelo in a room to work out the essentials of a deal without any managers or promoters it would've happened either last year or be signed for May this year. So I guess I also have the right to apply the same standard to GGG and Loeffler regarding Brook. And yes, people will criticize the fighter anyway, that can't be helped but it's not my responsibility.
How would've Hearn had to deliver Eubank, when Eubank himself admitted that he didn't like the deal and punked out of the fight?
People will bash the fighters they dislike no matter what. I agree that they should have asked about DeGale (I made that point when GGG-Brook was announced, I wasn't happy with the Brook fight), but I suppose, how do we know that they didn't ask about DeGale?
Even Shockmaster's theory is superior to yours, you are going even further by saying that GGG had the choice between Brook and Eubank and chose Brook? Where's your evidence? I've already discussed your link many times before, it proves nothing except that Loeffler liked the fight. But in many other places Hearn, Loeffler, GGG, all said the Eubank fight was their preference.
Loeffler was quoted(and I know I can find if u want ...I'm on a tablet right now ) as saying " we would have taken degale if he was offered to us".....I'd they asked he would have said "we asked about degale but he waant available"
The reality is Eubanks was used as a patsy. The were working on the Brook fight all along behind closed doors. Ham man wants no part of Screwbanks.
