    Its just talk.
If he was asked about fighting Floyd, what do u guys want him to say? No thanks ?
Floyd is still in the news, about every day, talking about boxing again

And of course, the man is what, 35 ? He's after money fights for certain. Thats what this fight with Canelo is, and tons of popularity.

What weight classwas Ward fighting at that time?
Not going down that rabbit hole, you're just baiting. I was answering your question with another question, not asking what weight class Ward walks around.

Let me ask you, what's more important. Walk around weight or weighting weight? Which one counts in a fight?

He could just say "He's a great fighter" and should have shut his trap. Or could have stayed quiet and just laugh and be a good boy.

how well do you think canelo would do if he wasn't 10-15 pounds heavier than his opponent on fight night. And why not answer a question with an answer

Desperate panhandling for a payday. G should be above that. Mayweather is 40 and retired.

If you're gonna rationalize this you can and will rationalize anything (in boxing)

He should have said 'great fighter, would have been my dream fight... but Mayweather is too old and retired now'

No, no, the Canelo-GGG fight is nearly agreed from both sides:

According to Gennady Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, the ongoing negotiations to finalize a September fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez are looking very good.

A few days ago, Golden Boy Promotions President Eric Gomez, who represents Canelo, advised *******.com's Steve Kim that a deal to face Golovkin was "close."

The two sides have been negotiating since last year. Initially the issue was getting the two fighters to agree on the contract weight, but that obstacle is a thing of the past. The two sides are now getting close to reaching an agreement on the money - which for the last few months has been the biggest sticking point.

Doesn't justify GGG's desparate begging Floyd to give him a fight, but I do think this fight will go through. Just greedy promoters trying to maximize $$$ holding things up but hopefully that part is nearly over.

Canelo wasn't a MW because he was demanding catchweights yet had a title. I'm not saying he is scared or anything, I'm just saying when you hold a MW title you can't demand a catchweight against a real MW. That doesn't really make any sense.

Maybe you are right in saying it is hypocritical, but I would think an exception could be made for Floyd. GGG knows he is not a MW, so he will sacrifice to fight him. I personally just don't think you should sacrifice anything to fight a guy who is also a MW champ. Seems ridiculous to me.

Of course he is. He would be stupid not to. Last EE that fought for glory and made all the concessions got shamelessly robbed by the judges and is now in limbo. GGG is a pro in a business of beating people up for money. Romantic notions of him doing it purely for legacy are best left for idealistic teens and poor people. Self made men know GGG is building a brand and wants to get paid.
