Shane McG raised a good point about Bellew's sparring

It makes no sense to put blame on Tony Bellew for "talking his way into the fight".
David Haye jumped at the chance too.
Haye's the bigger name and the man who is rated by many as a contender at heavyweight. I know, I know, he always has some excuse/explanation for not getting a legit name HW in the ring with him. I guess Bellew was the best fighter available ??

Have you evidence that Haye doesn't provide for his kids?
Who pays their school fees?

 

Of course Haye wouldn't trade his purse for the win...he's going to win anyway...

 

Have to laugh at his 'only one champion is dat ring/dat green belt is mine' etc etc etc

He won his 'green belt' in a (are you ready?) vacant title fight against a bloke who's best win was over Glen Johnson.

Haye won both the WBC and WBA Cruiser belts against a long reigning champion (best since Holyfield) in his backyard.

Then for good measure he beat Enzo for his WBO belt.

And although an argument could be made that Wlad was 'really' WBA Heavy Champ, Haye still went abroad again and beat a two time/100lbs bigger Valuev for his title.

 

The idea that Bellew talked himself into the fight is laughable.

As with Audley, Haye wants this fight just as much as Bellew.

Let's not kid ourselves into thinking Haye is doing this out of good will. It's a good payday for him and he wanted this.

No but you do seem to believe what Hearn has said which we all know like most of the tripe he farts out is a loada bull ..... Yup TB would defo take this fight for free, despite 24/7 telling us all he fights to provide for his family ...simple as zat !

Bellew isn't the best name available but it was a fight that was both easy and lucrative. Haye needed the money if he wanted to finance any potentional heavyweight showdowns down the line. With the money from this fight Hayemaker could actually get someone decent in to fight IF they wanted to. I'm not sure they could afford the bigger names in the division before. If he carries on fighting the Demoris of the world after this then I'll be the first to condemn him because he'll have no excuses after this fight.

You also need to take into account that the usual David Haye haters would have spouted the usual **** if he hadn't fought Bellew after Tony called him out saying he ducked him like some of those idiots claim he ducked Briggs.

As I said before he was on a hiding to nothing coming back with some people, had he fought a big name straight away he would have been criticised for getting an opportunity he didn't deserve and if he started at the bottom getting his ranking up then he'd get slated for fighting poor opposition.

 

Can't blame Haye for taking the fight, obvious why.

1). It was Bellew who called him out. First publicly with the "Bermondsey *****" comment and then the antics after the BJ Flores fight.

2). It's got everyone talking about Haye once again, making him relevant in the public eye which = $$$$

3). It's on PPV, which again means $$$$. The numbers this will generate will also gives him powers of negotiation for his next fight and to attract a world title fight.

4). He's not up against a mammoth heavyweight, he's fighting a man coming up in weight.

 

Agree whole heartedly. I can't say I see any improvement in haye or groves I feel both were at their best under booth I don't think groves would beat degale if they box again and not to snub framptons last few wins I don't remember ever watching him and thinking he's dramatically improved he's been at the level he's at for a long time
