Seen it. Wow. That's probably a 20 million plus live gate. 1 million PPVs equals 70 million in PPV rev, / by 2 its 35 million. Easy 55 million in revenue for this fight GGG still hasn't sold out MSG for Jacobs. If Golovkin wants the Canelo fight he's gonna have to take what he can get
Yeah this is a big money fight. Golovkin has sold out MSG before. Might not happen for this fight since ticket prices are more expensive than what they were for any of his previous fights and a lot of people are predicting an early TKO. I don't know. I'm going to watch it, but I wouldn't go there live for this fight because of the ticket price. I wanted to go to the Stevens/Lem fight, but I'm going to have to miss that one as well because something came up. Hopefully I can go to the Lomachenko/Sosa fight in April with my friend. I'll find out if I can make that one next week.
i honestly dont believe GGG has every truly sold out regular MSG or out west either.....i know they will claim sold out but im not buying it...not knocking the guy...i just dont believe it ur telling me this fight might not sell out because "alot of people are predicting an early KO" at the same time his fans want to tell us jacobs is his best fight to date.......if this guy is a premier draw than he should be able to sell out at top ticket prices....if he cant than he has never truly sold any real arena out
So they tell you the venue sold out and release numbers and you doubt it. Okay. That makes sense. His fans say that. I don't think so. I don't even think the bookies think so since I'm pretty sure Jacobs has around the same odds Kell Brook had and we know how people viewed that fight. I'll have to check on that to make sure, but I recall seeing a topic here about that. Yeah he SHOULD be able to sell tickets at any price, but with boxing the way it is and his background it's kind of expected at the same time. That is also why I don't really rate him selling out MSG the same as other times it has sold out because I'm quite sure ticket prices were cheaper in Golovkin's case. That being said he's still, what top 5 draws in the sport right now? We have Canelo, Joshua (don't exclude him just because he's in the UK), Pacquiao, I doubt Cotto is bigger at this point because we didn't hear anything about ticket sales when the Kirkland fight was supposed to happen, I think Lomachenko is actually a draw. I'm sure there are Asian fighters that I'm not too knowledgeable about that sell very well. They really support out there and they love the fights at lower weight classes. I've been saying for a way that Roman Gonzalez needs to fight there more if he wants more money and should just fight Inoue.
well that was kind of my point....i dont really rate him selling out if a bunch of the tickets are cheap...if he cant sell this fight out than he doesnt really sell out IMO.... hes still a good draw in boxing....but just not on that level where he should be demanding anything from canelo
You didn't say you don't rate it. You said you don't believe it. Those are entirely different. How is he not in position to demand anything? Canelo took a massive hit in his credibility and Golovkin IS his biggest matchup barring a Mayweather rematch which may not even be a possibility.
did canlelos credibility take a massive hit? well let the success of canelo/chavez judge that....but i doubt it will bother the success of that event..... trust me..if canelo goes in another direction after this, other than ggg, something will pop up and do just fine for canelo...the same way this chavez fight did
Lets see after both win hopefully cause honestly I've seen nothing to suggest Oscars been low balling or that GGG has been demanding anything, stuff like venue, judges ect are all things he's used to and concedes too, only have to see where he's fought to see that.
ok well maybe i shouldnt have said "demanding"....but oscar is out there saying 15 mil...and golovkins fans are egging it on like that aint even enough...thats enough..more than enough...
