Haye hurts his toe or something?

I didn't see this fight but since the Klitschko fight I knew Haye was a phony. So when I hear he hurt his toe or his earlobe or his hair I knew it was just a predictable more of the same... .. .Will Brits still believe that David is the second coming of Ali/Tyson/Marciano/Jesus. . . .yes probably *yawn*

 

bloke was legit injured, could barely stand but don't let that deter you from your online point scoring champ.

Watch the fight and see the heart of Haye. It was super impressive he continued fighting for 5 rounds on 1 leg. He may even have won a round or two in that time as well. Love him or hate him you can't call him a fraud after that.

I did have him winning one of those rounds after the injury. He was still very dangerous but Bellew stayed really patient, almost too patient.

At first it looked like his knee buckled, when he got injured it wasn't the result of a punch, David simply was backing up and put too much pressure on the back leg and it went. Then they tried to tape it up, then they removed the tape. Adam Booth must have been rolling his eyes watching this. lol Wlad must have been laughing watching this. First the toe now the leg, unbelievable. Where does Haye go from here? Will Bellew fancy a rematch? Can Haye still go?

 

Haye is done. He may have another fight but tonight shows his body simply can't handle it, regardless of whether he wants it too. Maybe he always knew that from his career. Likely he'll be back for one more fight, maybe Bellew again, just for the money but that'll be it I reckon.

I have to disagree. He couldn't push off his leg after the injury so his punches carried no power. It was never in danger.

 

this isn't toegate II, you could see he was legitimately hurt.
but it's clear that fitness hasn't been his biggest concern since his return, just looking for another easy payday.

Sore achilles increases the chances of tendon rupture. You could see in the fight that Haye could stand on the tip of his fingers on his right foot and had the weight on the heel which is what no healthy boxer would do.

It's a nastly imobilizing injury. I had problems with sore achilles tendon and I could barely walk for few days. It's not even so much about the pain, it's simply that your achilles can't move properly and you end up limping. Basically your foot stops working properly.

 

Haye still was landing some bombs that rocked Bellew, including a borderline low blow that landed on the beltline that seemed to hurt Bellew. Bellew remained very cautious, most fighters would have just gone balls to the wall to try to get Haye out of there.

 

He landed shots but they had no effect because they had no power behind them.

I watched that interview before the fight, and Haye was acting like it was all sarcasm. He was quite a cheeky lad there first saying the achilles was sore, then saying my back was sore, then saying his arm was about to fall off. Excessive sarcasm and exaggeration from Haye, but surely the achilles was bothering him and the fact that he saw a doctor in Germany a few days before the fight indicates that. His corner seemed ill prepared to deal with the problem once it happened, surely some ice on the achilles could have helped. Instead they tried to put tape around it, then took it off a round later.
