I was completely wrong about David Haye.

Firstly just to clear something up.

As you know by my posts, I am no David Haye fan. In fact I am probably one of Haye's biggest detractors on this forum.

Haye showed me something tonight that I never thought he had, he showed grit, character, a chin, determination, an iron will and was fighting as a wounded animal.

I didn't think Haye had this in him, I thought he was a part-time fighter without a warrior spirit, more interested in hanging out with Dizzy Rascal and the other z-listers than being a student of the game.

I was on the edge of my seat tonight from start to finish, and I would like to thank David Haye and I hope he recovers and we get the rematch because I think he has the fire and ability to beat Bellew.

    Amazing night of boxing.

The best thing was the slow mo at the end when Hearn tried to hug him, Bellew pushes him away and says to F off

If he had a showed heart and passion in the last few years rather than being a wannabe celeb, he wouldn't even be fighting Bellew tonight

Agree. This was so intense it's unreal. Shame what happened thought. Haye showed so much heart tonight, really impressive from him. I think he may have one more fight left though and that's it. His body simply can't do what he wants it to do

Ego and entitlement kept Haye upright when Tony was slapping him about like a cheap Ho.

Don't give this lowlife credit for having his **** slapped.

I actually felt sorry for Haye it's a brutal sport sometimes.. He could of chickened out.. No he stood there and took his licks like a real man.. Wow

We know all his career David is not the type of fighter who takes many clean shots due to his reflexes so it was sad to see him stood there couldn't move and be helpless at times..

I hope he recovers well and gets the rematch..

Hats off to David Warrior Haye..

lol I burst out laughing when I saw the replay of that, Eddie had a "WTF" look on his face as Bellew then walked towards Haye.
Credit to Bellew for not rubbing it in and instead going over to Haye, deep down he must know there was some luck involved.

    Thanks for the welcome...

People apply emotional feelings about fighters without actually taking in what they see. Regardless of your feelings Haye showed a lot of heart tonight.

I think your response has shown the kind of person you are. Shame really...

Haye showed bravery but I don't think that's ever been an issue. His issue is that he trains to look good and not to be healthy.

Also, he's now got nowhere to go. The cynic in me tells me that he was magnanimous at the end because he had to be - he sounded almost desperate to have a rematch. It's hard to take his sudden apparent humbleness seriously when he was such a dick in the build up. He's gone from being a diva to being happy to fight Bellew again at Goodison Park. He needs the money clearly.
