The thing is David Haye hasnt fought a big name heavyweight since his return from a lengthy lay off and in spite of all this, he's been placed quite high in the heavyweight rankings. Tony Bellew is another who is not proven in the heavyweight division. Deontay Wilder is a current world heavyweight champion who has been fighting heavyweights. Like Hayes sudden jump in the rankings, I dont think Bellew should fast track his career in the division of mammoths.
I was not excited about the fight occurring, i watched it because i could, it was a meaningless fight in reality, but a win is a win Bellew beat the guy in front of him, even if it was a limping Haye Mike Tyson earned plenty of money during his decline, so a less well off fighter like Bellew earning some big bucks off back of this fight is fine and dandy in my book. At end of the day it comes down to putting food on the table and hopefully retiring with your brain cells intact.
I'd rather see Wilder fight the ducking Parker, or the Joshua/Wlad winner. It's crazy how his detractors will be satisfied with far less than his fans. We all know they wont give him a lick of credit for beating Bellew though.
Parker called out Wilder last year. Wilder heard it and picked Wawryzk. Just statin the facts that it couldve happened earlier. http://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sp...ilder--the-tangled-web-of-title-fight-options
I doubt Bellew is staying at cruiser, but if he does I'll remember those who have been calling for this fight. I'd put money on the majority of those people changing their tunes if Wilder knocks him out.
Please check the dates. Parker called out Wilder before he announced Wawryzk. Everybody knows this. I think Wilder had a week to agree to the unification and then he chose Wawryzk instead. These are facts. Facts!
Haye looks like he lost a few billion in that beatdown tonight. But then that was always his plan, retire at 35, get career ending brain injuries, go to Hollywood.
