Hays footwork against Bellew

Yer you are right come to think of it. It was pretty poor, especially after the 6th round he had not footwork at all...

I'm glad someone else noticed it...

 

It seemed fine all fight to me...?

 

Almost like he was trying to hide an ankle injury? lol

 

It was awful, he was falling over himself and then finally fell thru the ropes in the 11th.
UKAD should have really given him a breathalyzer before this fight.

Haye has long had poor footwork and balance. The injury made it stand out even more so.

 

I think it's clear to see now that Haye went in to the fight injured, the midweek trip to Germany to see a specialist and rumours the fight was going to be cancelled should have had everybody seriously questioning his fitness and looking back to last week I have no idea why I didn't.

I'm taking nothing away from Bellew, he did what he had to do.

 

Haye always had Bambi legs and poor balance.

In his 20's training properly with booth and not carrying too much top heavy bulk it didn't show that much.

Late 30's partying and training on yachts, damaged toe, coupled with a decent opponent that didn't fold at the first punch.

I think the world and his dog noticed HayEs legs were fkut, he was like something out of Last Of The Summer Wine

 

U serious??? His movement was great at his best, footwork-speed was what enabled him to do damage quickly....

 

He's not wrong though. Haye has always had poor technique all round. Your right in saying he had quick hands and feet but his balance and foot placement has always been poor when throwing punches. He wasn't so bad moving on the outside where his foot speed and athleticism made him elusive but when he engaged and threw combo's his technique footwork and balance was always erratic. Haye was very athletic and naturally talented in his prime but all round technique was never his strong point.

 

Imo it looked like he wanted to stand still on his feet and generate as much power as possible to knock Bellew out. But he also was really heavy compared to what he's been in his fights before.
