In the Brook fight he was impatient and wanted to finish it quickly. It doesn't mean he let the other guy hit him, it's just that he didn't have any respect for his opponent's offence and didn't bother to stick to some gameplan to limit the damage but just headhunted since the first second.

I do believe GGG wanted a street fight against a faster kid, but I don't believe he did get hit on purpose.

Follow the news: Abel Sanchez invited David Benavidez to the camp as the starting partner for the first 4 rounds. The reason per him is that Benavidez is very quick and they asked him to start with quick pace so that GGG was ready for a quick tempo from the start. Abel noticed in Brook fight GGG was off the rhythm early on and had to catch up as the fight went through. He noticed GGG became a bit complacent considering lack of motivation for Wade/Brook level of opposition. My personal opinion: GGG usually terrifies opponents from the start and they are put into a retreat mode, so he can work in his own relaxed measured tempo; Brook started breaking this rhythm and GGG got a bit surprised, so he had to adjust and catch up. Inviting Benavidez to the camp and using his speed from the start kind of proves GGG has to be alert and ready for a quick pace from the get go.

From your rival site that cannot be mentioned:

""If I look good, he's not ready yet. If I look terrible, he's ready. This is his strategy, Golden Boy strategy," Golvkin told the Los Angeles Times.

Does that mean Golovkin might intentionally look terrible against Brook?

"Maybe, sometime, maybe. Why not? Good strategy [to get Canelo]," Golovkin said while laughing."

I'm not saying that this is proof that he deliberately went out to get tagged in a sloppy brawl with Brook. But certainly the idea was floating around in Golovkin's mind that he needed to somehow look worse to sucker Canelo into fighting him. It wouldn't be the first time a boxer has tried this.

Ali to Frazier "They told me you were washed up"

McCoy was another legend that floated rumours and dreadful sparring sessions in order to hoodwink his opponent.

I like the 24/7 series. Also, I'm surprised they used a song from Run The Jewels 3 on this for the music. I'm glad; I'm a fan of the duo and a huge fan of El-P. I'll Sleep When You're Dead is one of my favorite albums ever.

Having trouble with the context of the content you're trying to understand. Ggg didn't intentionally let brook land cleanly on him.

Ggg said all pre fight, he wanted to make it exciting for the fans and make it into a street fight which means a straight toe to toe battle.

That's exactly, to the tee of what happened. Ggg almost ended it in round 1, brook fought back and landed a few clean shots which proved tof ggg that brook was zero threat.

Not caring if your opponent lands here and there to make it into the fight you (ggg) wants doesn't mean he's "letting" brook land. When had anyone from ggg side say he "let" brook land ?

Ggg had no in ring respect for brook and tried making it an exciting fight which only helps ggg. Brook couldn't ever hurt ggg, no matter what. That's the reason ggg went only for the KO and pocketed his far superior boxing skills.

The only times I've heard anything about ggg possibly letting his opponents land were Steven's and lemme, Abel told ggg between rounds "no free shots" and no more free shots, we're not trying to prove how tough you are"

Having no regard for your opponent is vastly different than letting one land. This is how pathetic you ggg haters are. You're seriously arguing between ggg letting fighters land on him or ggg losing all respect for his opponents.

Two very different variables, I feel like I'm typing to the dumbest most ignorant trolls on our Internet

Not sure what is there to argue about. GGG walked trough all of Brooks punches and he literally broke Brooks face. Brook did exactly what he was supposed to do as a faster guy and even won himself a round. That's all there is.

If looking worse than he is actually was his strategy to get better fights, good on him, Jacobs took the bait. (24/7 interview)

I believe he took a step back in round 1 just to save his face, he knew he would win before stepping in the ring and dispatching a smaller guy in first round doesn't do anything good for him.

GGG simply didn't respect what was coming back at him. Jacobs and his buddies can talk about how he was exposed all they want, but that's not the GGG they're going to get. Ask punchers like Stevens and Lemieux where the openings were from the Monroe fight, where Willie actually landed some shots.

It was the same thing for Bud in the Gamboa fight...people were making a huge deal like Bud was getting exposed when it was clear that Bud realized he could take the smaller man's best shots. You can nitpick and say "yeah, he got hit", but you can't count on them being that lax against someone whose power they take more seriously.

I'll tell you what, if thats you in that pic then its a fair fight. Me and you could meet up and fight and in the middle of it, hold your chin out and let me just lay into you for a few punches. When the ambulance comes for you ,you can always tell them," I wanted to make it an exciting fight, so I dropped my hands". I will be somewhere else uploading your KO to Worldstarhiphop, like the so called internet troll you want me to be.

Excellent, excellent post! This is exactly what i saw but you put it far better than i did. I think this is exactly how the fight went in the first round then utlimately through the rest of the fight. Any time GGG tried to simply box with Brook he got out boxed but Brook simply didnt have the firepower to really hurt GGG enough to finish him.

Lmfao, this clown now feels the only way ggg could possibly be tested is to go up to cw or a hw match up.
I'd feel very confident (put ALL my accessible cash and credit) on a GGG tko rounds 6 thru 12
