I had a nun accidentally on purpose slowly role a wheelchair with a 300 pound patient on it over my big toe as I sat waiting in an outpatient clinic at a hospital. Suffered excruciating bouts of pain for many years after so I know how distracting such an injury can be. I also had a door slam into my Achilles heel of the same foot adding more misery. Time has eventfully healed both injuries but if I had placed more stress on the injured areas as boxers are required to do then getting to the hobbling around point that Hayes showed in his recent fight is understandable. Things need to be left alone so that they can mend properly.
Haye was off balance from the off.after a minute of the fight i called it which was a vastard because i had money on him and if he had serious injury he shouldnt have fought.but from the off he was throwing a weird cupping left hook which was slow and threw him off balance each time he threw it. It wasnt coincidence he went to see a specialist in germany on fight week over his achiles, then starts the fight off like bambi then low and behold ruptures his achiles
He was injured before the fight and obviously made it so much worse by actually fighting. It does make you wonder if he did actually do padworks on a bloody yacht That's no good for the ankle is it with it bloody rocking all the time. Anyway, it's all done now, he's blown it.
Haye was dragging his foot early as if to put as least pressure as possible. He clearly came in with at and hoped it would hold out, he expected a quick fight and took the chance to go in there injured. bad mistake as it turns out. he is probably overall more popular for it though, I didnt think he would have the grit to fight through it. people say he had no choice, but he did. many fighters have folded knowing how bad it will look but they fold anyway.
Because when you're shot and fighting a tall guy those things happen. Bellew for what it's worth fought the right fight. He stayed right in front of Haye and made him expend energy. The old Haye would've been more patient. The shot Haye panicked.
He never had great foot work on the front foot to begin with. Could never position himself to throw anything other than a 1-2 / hook -hayemaker.
It seemed strange to me. Haye's stance and right foot looked vary awkward to me (before the injury). Even my wife said "what's up with Hayes stance". Im thinking haye had an injury and carried into the fight. His footwork and stance were not what I was used to. I saw him unclose during fight week vs Wlad and the Haye we just saw was not the same. Something was wrong to me.
Vlad smashed his toe a long time ago! However, I have to give Haye another chance before I say he is done for................
