Regarding Haye, if Bellew doesn't give him the rematch, I'm struggling to see where he goes with his career.

He may as well have sent a text to Bellew telling him in advance he was gonna throw a hook because you could see them coming a mile off. He's had too long out the game and it isn't going to come back now he's hitting the wrong side of 30, unfortunately. Imo he's too good to finish his career on this note and maybe one more handpicked fight against a big, heavy (domestic) opponent with limited footwork who can't slip his punches might be a nice way to sign off. Maybe a Ortiz.

 

Oooft dunno bud, Ortiz has a neck thats about as big as my waste and looks like he has a chin that is 3 inches thick with bone..... a mobile fighter deals with him i reckon but thats a big ask of Haye especially after this injury...someone who can take his best shots and wont stop plodding forward.

Id like Tony to rematch him, both get a massive payday (bigger than the weekend) and give Haye the chance to redeem himself. Even if Haye doesnt win would be nice to see him see out the fight without a big hindering injury that he got on Saturday. Tony i think would be happy to take it he might not have been up on the cards prior to David Hayes injury but he was fairly comfortable and certainly not out his depth like i thought he would be.

Tony shouldnt be looking at fighting any of the big heavies like AJ or Wilder ... could be a bridge to far IMO and wouldnt be that much of a difference in paydays.

I have no sympathy for him, Haye has verbally abused so many fighters, offended people, humiliated a few too.

It wasn't a hard watch, there was an element of justice in it for me.

 

It's as if Haye has brainwashed a large part of the population.

No matter how many bad fights he is in or how often he shames the sport some people still seem to only be able to view him as an elite boxer despite the fact that he has 2 decent wins in over years as a pro.

Now despite everyone seeing him throwing terrible punches in the first few rounds and his body breaking in the 6th some people actually think he has a future at HW. The guy has took the **** out of the sport and knackered his own body by piling on stupid amounts of muscle and not training properly. He's done.

 

Like the concept as an exit for David. But, Ortiz? At this point, I'd be afraid to put David into the ring with even Price. Maybe Cornish is more the type for this.

 

Over on the Scene there is an article where Froch spoke to Haye after surgery and Haye confirmed he is 100% going to come back. Deal with it boyo Hayemaker 3.0 is on its way and he will win a world title after destroying Bellew. Joshua is GETTING IT.

 

I don't doubt that Haye will be looking to keep on making money boxing.

However he is looking at least 10-12 months until he can fight again and since he only takes big money fights or bums it'll either need to be Bellew again or the ultimate freak show against Fury.

There is no Haye vs AJ fight now. That ship has sailed.

Haye is like the new Mike Tyson, obviously not on the same level but for his faults he did capture the imagination with his exciting style, but in the same way, people are waiting for the old Haye which may never come, just the glimpse. I remember waiting for the old Tyson to return, he never did. time waits for no boxer.

 

There should be a rematch ASAP...............
