I have to ask this question, how do u see a prime wlad vs fury fight going? It's just that at the moment fury is on a level, in my eyes, as Michael spinks or Leon. Guys that came along at just the right time to catch a aging champion. Until he fights again for a few more years I don't think I'll change my mind. He did the job against wlad but at the right time. Just curious how some people rate fury.

Well that's why I say Fury is a stylistic nightmare for that old version of Lewis.

Vitali wanted to KTFO Lewis, and engaged with him and gave him the opportunity to land those big shots. I doubt Fury would exchange with Lennox (why should he? Lewis has all the power and probably the chin too) and would likely stick n move from the outside all night long.

A younger Lewis would probably be able to force the fight. That old Lewis would get pitter pattered to death.

I see the younger version of Wlad (the aggro one) as mashing Fury into puree'.

I see the 'prime' jab n hold version as still likely beating him but with more difficulty.

The current version is at a severe disadvantage because he's not willing to let his hands fly. Although he did it in the 12th and had success.

But really the true question is: when are we going to see more of Fury and how does he look against other styles at the top level? He could potentially be very good, but if he doesn't lay off those pies and Guinness we'll never know. And that would be a pity.

Good analysis and probably most likely out come. I actually think a old Lewis against fury would have told us more about tyson than the wlad fight did. Even though he was gassing, at least the early rounds would be a hard time for fury. Lewis never lost his big punch really so he would have been a big threat to tyson more so I believe than wlad was.

I agree 100%. One thing I will give Lewis, he wasn't afraid to go out on his shield. Against Vitali, he realised he was getting whooped and that it was going to end badly for him. He took his last chips and went to war instead of playing it safe. Wlad just couldn't seem to stop playing it safe until it was 2 minutes to midnight.

If you ask me he takes wlad to school again... No way wlad can box with him, and he doesn't have the bal.ls to fight him

With lewis its a different situation, he also probably cant box with fury, but he has the mental state of a warrior to bring the fight to fury and rough him up

Honestly one of the reasons i dislike wlad, he doesn't have a warrior's heart... It was embarrassing the way he handled his belts to fury, without even trying to win...
Trying to box fury all fight when you see you just can't and that you are losing the fight and the belts, that's either low ring iq or lack of heart

It's entirely possible that Fury wins again vs Wlad. He's a much much better boxer than I had thought. Wlad did have a lot of problems at home though, and it's possible that his mindset wasn't right. Then again, when he did let punches fly he was doing much better. I'd like him to have another go.

Thanks for the answer ticar. That's the thing about fury.. He brings out so many different views in people. I'll give the guy one thing.. He stirred up the heavy weight division.

I think he has guts. Sanders was knocking him all over the ring and he kept trying to get up to fight on.

What he doesn't have is that mean streak that puts a smile on a guys face because he's punched somebody's teeth out. Guys like Vitali and Lewis have it. Wlad I think is maybe too clever for his own good and doesn't have enough caveman in him. He kept trying for the elegant, technical solution when it simply wasn't there against Fury.

He stirred it up alright, but I'd have liked to see him actually defend those belts. We could have had Fury / Wlad2 / Wilder/ Parker, all of which would have been great fights to watch. Instead we get Wilder/Arreola and Parker/ Takam. Parker/Takam was admittedly a good one though.

Totally agree with u on that. He gets the belts, gets a boat load of publicity,, as all the top names calling for him.. Then sadly nothing. The guys suffered mental health problems which If it's true is horrible. But hopefully he gets his health back and gets back on the treadmill. Starts showing us what he's really made of.

I sure hope we see Fury back in the ring soon enough, if only to get some perspective on this guy.
Correct me if i'm wrong but my balanced view of him was , big , mobile, elusive, self confident, good for boxing, self belief, reasonable jab
But rather feather fisted with little willingness to engage.
Unbeaten with potential to improve ?
    OR
Alternatively I've seen him talked of on here as an ATG and 2 posters recently said he would beat prime Ali.
Can someone just do a sanity check with me and let me know if my version is more accurate than the second one ?

I rate him much higher than Leon.

    Anyway, Leon drew vs LeDoux

If I thought Fury is on Leon's level, I'd pick 37 y.o. Lewis by KO in 3 :)

I also pick that Lewis over M Spinks by KO
