Not really. He was like Andy Ruiz with worse boxing technique and more power. He would lose to most of the top fighters but maybe knock out one or two of the them, I'm just not sure who. He'd do better against the guys rounding out the bottom of the top ten like Breazelle and Whyte.

Tua's era was better at the very top but this era has less of a drop off.

Think he'd have a great chance against Wilder, bad style clash for Wilder, but would probably lose to the other top 5 or 6 hws.

Not much difference, similar to Russians and English.

His height would not matter TBH .
His Aggression , Excellent Power , Iron chin would be the equalizer .

I completely agree with all of these except Wilder and Ortiz. Wilder's defense
is too porous to avoid David and Ortiz gets touched a little too much and fights
a little too much on the inside to beat Tua.

    Disagree.

Your over rating this list of "top" HW's.

Joshua, wlad, wilder, both furys beat him. Bellew pummels him and makes him quit.

Tua's the king of H2H matches. Too bad he almost always struggled against world class opponents. Ought to be 0-2 against Rahman a guy who got a late start and doesn't exactly have the greatest whiskers, schooled by Byrd, Lewis, lost to Ibeabuchi, struggled with Maskaev, Izon and Oquendo. Love Tua, but he's incredibly overrated on forums. He was definitely unlucky not to have won a belt in his era and definitely would have a great chance at winning one today, but lets not act as if he'd clean house with ease.

Tua beat several champs close to their prime. Moorer, Ruiz (both KOd inside one round), Maskaev, Rahman. He struggled against Lennox and would struggle against Wlad and Joshua. He may clean the clocks of the others.

It was depressing watching Tua lose to Lewis. Fact is that most modern tall hw would probably just outjab him, keep him at distance and win, in a similar way to lewis. It was great he ended his career in style beating cameron. The big question is - how mich better could he have been, had he not lost 5 years or so of boxing after being ripped off by Barry, and refusing to fight for so long?

Tua was always a danger to fighters who matched him in size but tended to shell up against guys much taller than him or able to keep him on the outside. He was a weird, inconsistent fighter with true world class power and one of the worst delivery mechanisms ever. I could totally see him losing to someone like Malik Scott then knocking the stuffing out of Povetkin in his next bout.

In today's heavyweight division, Tua would till show up overweight and unskilled and lose a bunch of decisions.

Remember, this guy, in his prime, lost to Chris Byrd.
