Canelo is wasting his prime for B-level opposition

    His opposition is very weak after Cotto.

    Glass-chinned WW Amir Khan, who was already exposed few times before

    Then unexperienced B-level opponent Liam Smith

    And now past-prime B-level opponent JC Chavez Jr

    For someone who pretends to build a HOF career, it's extremely weak list of opponents in his prime.

    And for all who brings GGG here - I know how weak was his opposition, but we talk about Canelo here.

    what would you say about a 35 year old with a resume that is even weaker?

    GGG resume is weak and I admit it.

    But Canelo pretends to be at the top p4p (as his fans think) and still faces low level opposition.

    Compare Canelo to Kovalev and Ward instead of GGG

    Why do you have to involve Golovkin everywhere? OP told you twice, he knows what kind of resume GGG has.
    The argument here is - Canelo is wasting his prime.

    canelo is just hitting his prime man...hes 26...LOL...its a stupid point...why single out a 26 year old and then say "well dont compare to golovkin"...why not? golovkin is considered p4p and his fans sweat him all day? why do i have to compare canelo to ward and kovalev like he asked?

    Now we're talking.
    You're right, he's got 10+ years left if he chooses to stay around that long. The only problem I have with him is that he seems to choose money over everything else right now.

    wasnt golovki looking for money fights against chavez and froch? ...didnt golovkin just fight a WW so he could make his career high payday? is that guy not 35?

    sure canelo fights for money....like everyone else.......what else is he not doing besides not fighting golovkin?

    keep in mind canelo is already a pretty big star...hes the same age as spence, charlo etc.....hes the same as some guys that are just starting to step up.....but yet for some reason, because canelo cut his teeth earlier, he has to do more now?

    Canelo has 50 fights. He has fought 3 A-level opponents in Floyd, Lara and Cotto (40 y o Mosley was completely shot so we don't take him).

    Compare him to 26 y.o. Vargas who has fought better opposition in 30 fights.

    Compare him to Floyd or Pac at 26. Are you kidding me? His opposition is weak for someone with 50 fights.

    I get the impression GBP knows 160 is very likely Canelo's ceiling in effective weight jumping. He's too short and stocky for 168. So GBP will very likely move Canelo carefully at 160. As evident by their reluctance to match Canelo with 3G the last couple of years.

    If canelo moved to 160 NOW, who would he be favored to beat? Jacobs? Saunders? 3G? Charlo?

    The sad thing about situations like this is, because of canelo's popularity, he'll may never have to face top contenders if he doesn't want to. He'll get title shots no matter what.

    ive said it 100x and ill say it again

    the problem for golovkins fans is that with each passing day and month they fear more than canelo can beat golovkin.....its something they are just going to have to wait out and hope for the best when it happens....

    canelo is 26 and at least twice as popular as golovkin.......hes not rushing to fight golovkin....he'll do it on his time...golovkin is a victim of circumstance

    if you flip their age and resumes golovkin fans would be whining "golovkin is 26 and more popular...he doesnt need canelo for anything and certainly not now....golovkin will face canelo when hes ready and im ok with that"
