its done him the world of good image wise and you could tell he enjoyed the warrior talk, its not like he has to say much really, the footage is clearly there. problem is his body probably wont be able to continue on its heavyweight trial. its interesting he is talking up a Eubank v Benn type rivalry, like he is trying to lure Bellew into thinking he would have a chance with a fully fit Haye. he is being very clever, he is just letting Tony go on with his talk of beating haye legit when everyone can see the truthm the fight only went his way after the injury.

Bellew has the chance to become a two-weight world champion. Although a rematch would be very lucrative, I think he'd just be settling for second best and he has the opportunity create a legacy by winning a world title in what could be his last fight.

Bellew should only consider taking on Wilder. I don't think Parker is THAT good but he weighed 246lbs against Ruiz. That's a crazy weight difference. He proved against Takam that he has a solid chin too, so Bellew won't budge him. That's an unwinnable fight IMO and Parker would probably win a boring UD or KO win.

Wilder brings American interest and Creed hype, he only weighed 222lbs against Washington, has been sparked in the amateurs and has no defence. Bellew could chin him. And imagine if he was to be the man to end his overhyped but still substantial win streak. Would genuinely be huge.

    Bellew should fight Haye.
Not because he owes him a rematch but because he'd probably win again.
Bellew really can't beat Wilder, AJ, Wlad, Parker or even Hughie Fury, so why go for a fight with one of those ?
Anyway, if he's a viable challenger for one of those now, he'll be just as viable coming off 2 wins over Haye.

People need to accept the fact that Haye is finished. He's been finished for a while now. He was overrated to begin with but since 2012 he's done nothing.
He won't get through an adequate training camp injury-free. That's been clear for years now. So let's not pretend what happened on Saturday was some sort of fluke.

Bellew is a far better boxer than Wilder. Better footwork, far better defence. If he can overcome reach and avoid getting hit clean then he can win IMO. Wilder has no chin, his chin doesn't exist. It's there to be sparked and he leaves it open every fight.

If Wilder boxes like he did against Stiverne then it's a really tough fight for Bellew but Then again Stiverne is a fat potato. Bellew's footwork was decent on Saturday tbf.

Wilder would kill bellew. Hayes reflexes were so slow on saturday night. Or the injury slowed him down tremendously from the start. He gave up any reach advantage he had right away also. Wilder would just punch him drunk from a distance.

Depends if Bellew has really broken his hand or not, if he has he likely wont fight till late Autumn anyway.

Haye v Bellew II with Whyte v Chisora II and Campbell v Mendy II on the undercard. Great card worth £20 of anyones money IMO.

Fair enough lawslaw i d actually buy that card...but i m an idiot when it comes to buying boxing. Whyte and chisora would be wanting a good wedge for that i bet. Cant see it doing as well myself. Haye is a has been now. Tbh i wouldnt grudge giving him the money cause he showed his heart etc same as chisora/whyte bellew. They ve also all put it on the line at one time or another. Just feel its encouraging haye at this point though. Can see him ending up like audley harrison. If the money he got for saturdays not enough for him it ll never be enough. And if hes serious about a boxing comeback...he needs to just forget about bellew and concentrate on getting fit and ready to fight a comeback fight.

2 months for a ruptured achilles? You're looking at 6 months minimum before he could start a camp... Haye won't be fighting again for at least 9 months, probably closer to a year.

That's if there's no complications either.

One of my best friends ruptured his achilles playing basketball about 3 years ago, and it got infected multiple times during the recovery plus had to have a realignment. I think realistically it's 12 months before Haye is fighting again.

David Haye knows how to play the game. There he is on Sky, all articulate, open and respectful. There he was before the fight, making all the bad noises that sold a lot of the tickets. He knows exactly how this works and he does it better than most.

Being the pantomime villain can sell a fight and make money for both fighters (and promoters). We all know that this is the way of things - David Haye is very good at this side of the business and I think that knowledgeable fans should recognise this and not take the pre-fight stuff too seriously. In a perverse way, it's not even that disrespectful;- after all, Tony Bellew is a rich man today because of the hype that he and David Haye created with their antics.

I'm not a Wilder fan mate, but he's fast and athletic and he can spark anyone out with that right hand.

I disagree, I think the rematch of Haye v Bellew does bigger numbers than the first, we love a rematch in this country if the first was a good fight with a bit of controversy. So Bellew has 3 options for a big payday, Haye, Wilder or Parker. Personally I think he would lose to all three but then again he's proved me wrong twice before so who knows.
