    righttttttttttt...of course

hey guys....lets not compare andre ward to any ATG or any current p4p star.....today i want this thread to be about comparing andre wards resume and accomplishments to those of joey gamache....why? because its my idea/thread and thats all that matters!

hey guys lets talk about canelo, being 26, and how weak his opposition is! ill let that 35 year old slide though....cause nothing is ever his fault!

you guys are the dumb ones though!

Isal and Shockmaster are pissed off as their lover Canelo is criticised here. If I start the same thread about GGG they will support me immediately. Maybe Isal better delete this thread as it turned to be pointless anyway, no one will prove anything here

    Good post,

Kind of like DSG, it's frustrating when he took some lesser fights but he did get back on track so who's to say the same won't happen with Red

I need to be more patient as a fan but I guess I still have a bad taste in my mouth about May-Pac, waiting so long for a shadow of what that fight should've been

You need to acknowledge that between 3G and canelo, only one of them has the ability to face virtually anyone they want near their weight. That's the benefit of being hugely popular. I don't even need to tell you this Pimp, you know what i'm talking about already.

You realize he became popular because he fought Mayweather, Trout (when he was at his best), Lara, and Miguel Cotto.

He made no fuss about CWs, money, or any other excuse to keep the fights the fans wanted from happening.

What you don't understand is if he gets KOed by Chavez or GGG it is over for Canelo. There are no serious fights left for him after that if he loses. He already lost and wasn't competitive with the best opponent he has faced to date.

Read the first post in this thread over and over again until you understand it.

He became popular because GBP knew it had someone they can maximize in that capacity. He was chosen to be a star before he was even a star, and subsequently promoted in that manner. And there's nothing wrong with that. Boxing promoters, when they recognize that potential, will put more focus on that type of fighter, and match him in a particular manner to allow the fighter to:
    a. look good in showcase fights
    b. Grow in skill as well as popularity

Hell, Canelo didn't face a live body until he faced Trout in fight 43. Then again, you probably thought his fight versus Matthew hatton for a title was LEGIT knowing you. I bet if 3G fought M Hatton, you'd say that was his best win too!

I don't necessarily agree. Popular fighters have lost and came back. BUT...if he loses to 3G, what is there at 160 for him to do?

So...well, maybe you do have a point.

If he loses to 3G at 160, I think he'll still have a few money making fights, but the pickings will be slim.

Here is the situation Oscar has put Canelo in:

He loses to Chavez Jr there will be no GGG fight.

He beats Chavez Jr then gets KOed by GGG

that would mean he lost his two most meaningful fights. Even at 26 there is nowhere for him to go. Do people really think a Lara rematch would be popular? I guess he could try and fight Cotto again but it would be an absolutely meaningless fight. Canelo's options are razor thin if he loses either one of these fights.
