Only one of those four lost to a "Euro" or an "Asian", and he was 44 years old. Exactly whom did these four guys "duck?" and they all "retired" in their late 30s, when most boxers do.
Sergio Martinez apparently didn't share your confidence. Golovkin either ices him or Maravilla gives the ref the head shake.
I think I got around even money on Golovkin under 6 vs Brook, free money. I don't see Jacobs lasting much if any longer. I think Gennady comes out with mean intentions and ends proceedings early. Golovkin KO5
This fight is a huge mismatch to anyone who knows boxing. Jacobs is a nice story with his comeback from cancer but he's not that good on top of that he has a suspect chin.
Rumour has it that Isal carries a ginger ball hair around with him in a silver locket, next to his heart.
Jacobs being stopped by Pirog & dropped by generally known light punching Mora are the major factors here in the odds + the perceived "mountain crushing" power GEE is being promoted as having makes the casual fan NOT even give this fight a chance to be competitive. (Hence the poor ticket sales). Truth is tho that by far Jacobs is easily the hardest puncher GEE has ever faced & has the best chance so far out of Golo's faced opponents. Working in conjunction with Hunter could also add another element that is needed. I expect Golovkin to get another TKO stoppage but wouldn't be surprised one bit if DJ could pull off an unpset.
This. Jacobs can punch, but other than that is very basic. Steward himself even admitted that Jacobs was very predictable when he did commentary for the Pirog-Jacobs fight. I do think Jacobs is a stronger puncher now, but that's it. I think 8-1 for GGG is about right.
