I definitely have Ray Leonard and Walker Smith Jr. ahead of him.

Head to head I'd have him top 3 at both WW and JMW.

How do people think a Keith Thurman vs Thomas Hearns fight at welter would look ?

With Hearns controlling the action from the outside. Thurman would be caught in a maze. If he backs up he gets it worse than if he comes forward. I don't know how well he could fight his way inside. It would be a gut check for him. He`s got some nice tools. I didn't like the way he finished the fight last weekend. He boxed well but he didn't close the show. He can say he is a warrior but if in with Hearns he would have to show it.

Agreed. But not legacy wise. His ATG Status comes from winning these titles far above welterweight

Is it palpable... whatever irony you speak of?

Personally I think Hearns would decision Thurman...not a stoppage. Thurman has pretty good movement.

Hearns is getting way overblown here for his actual accomplishments at this weight.

Are you talking about the guy actually created a significant resume in his division?

The thread is H2H, nobody has been banging on about legacy. His ATG status absolutely includes what he did at 147.

Does Armstrong beat Hearns at 147lbs? Benny Leonard was beating Britton until he went low.Could Walcott, being so out reached ,get in under the great jab of Hearns? I know he beat some heavies but were they anywhere as skilled or as fast as Tommy? Napoles was a great welter but prone to cuts and really a big light weight ,maybe Tommy would open his eyes up? Just thinking aloud.

I think that the consensus 2nd should be SRL, for about 75 % of expert.

Then it's pretty open, but give me Gavilan 3rd, and then Napoles 4th. Hearns can be 5th or farther than that.
