    It should be remembered that on February 2, GYM had won the official purse bid held by the IBF, by placing US $ 201,000 against US $ 181,000 by Barrera's promoter Main Events.     Should Artur Beterbiev become the mandatory chalenger ? I say yes, no other contender wants to fight this guy

    So, Barrera never signed his contract... Duva's team just slowed down the progression of Beterbiev's career, which, for Kovalev, is a great news.

    I agree the fight may have told us something. But I think Beterbiev would have steamrolled right through him. Barrera too slow and mechanical. Beterbiev too hard hitting. Chicken **** Stevenson needs to step up.

    Yvon asks IBF that Beterbiev is the mando to face Ward now.

    Definitely a possibility. But it was a much better fight than anything else Beterbiev has been able to line up recently, the outside possibility of Barrera dragging him into the later rounds and testing his stamina was an interesting prospect. Shame it's canceled. Now Beterbiev just continues to waste away while everyone ducks him.

    This sucks I was really looking forward to this fight. Beterbiev just can't get any decent fights.

    Beterbiev's promoter will ask the IBF to promote Beterbiev to mandatory status for the IBF belt. Its logic since so many fighters turned down the fight (6-7 I think). My guess is Ward would vacate the title...

    I don't think Beterbiev is ready for Ward to be honest. I heard Glenn Johnson is looking for a fight (comeback) he challenged Jean Pascal but Pascal is gonna fight Smith Jr. in New york.

    Beterbiev-Johnson in april is my guess!

    Barrera is a ****ing coward. He just wasted Beterbiev's time. Now someone with balls needs to step up.

    Disappointing. I thought Barrera would sign on and thought he had a good chance to spring the upset (still not sold on Beterbiev's conditioning), but I guess they didn't feel the same way. If Beterbiev was in his head that much, he was probably already mentally defeated. There's an article on the scene from this morning where Duva was still talking like it was on.
