Beterbiev vs Barrera canceled ; Barrera bails from fight

Where's that weirdo who takes up for every Cuban claiming they can do no wrong? Would be hilarious hearing him excuse this. Let me guess; GYM economically discriminated against Barrera and having in Miami was not enough of a concession.

 

I don't know if this is Barerra's fault could be something to do with Duva, he doesn't seem like someone who ducks fights.

Nevertheless the innocent party in this is Betetbiev he needs a fight asap or just promote him straight to mandatory if no one in the top 15 of the IBF wants to fight him.

 

Hey GYM, you scumbags, make Stevenson-Beterbiev, both guys are in camp, and put Barrera-Monaghan on the undercard.

 

I think this is pure Duva. Initial disappointment aside, I'm still giving Barrera the benefit of the doubt.

GYM has way more incentive to send Beterbiev down the IBF route (it protects Stevenson and gives them a shot at bringing another title in house. If Ward beats Beterbiev, who cares- he's not their top priority), whereas going the IBF route only sends Barrera towards a Ward rematch that nobody wants. She'll also need to keep Barrera handy in case Kovalev-Ward II falls through.

 

I blame Roc Nation and Andre Ward for this mess.

 

Amazing... So people are blaming Duva now ? Why not Barrera or even his manager. Barrera was saying last week that the fight wasnt on or something and Duva told him to speak with his manager.

 

Thing is, it turned out that the contract hadn't been signed, despite Duva assuring us that it was. Pretty clear IMO than Duva have mucked up somewhere, it's their job to get a good deal for Barrera.

I'm not gunna lie, I normally don't tolerate ducking but fighting Beterbiev for 40-60k is absolute madness from a business POV.

Beterbiev is no.2 anyway so if he just fights someone in top 20 he will be mandatory.
