It's harder to win with a broken hand but harder to fight with a broken rib.

I once cracked a rib in an accident: the real pain only comes after a day or so, but it instantly paralyses your breathing.

I'll go with rib, too. It sounds like you lose a heap having only one hand - but if you've ever tried moving, breathing (which increases with cardio of course) or throwing punches with the rib done... you may as well have the broken hand as well, imho.

I've had broken ribs several times. It hurts to even breathe. I would not want to ever be in a fight while having a broken rib.

I once broke my hand in a streetfight. I felt it break and heard it crack also (as did some bystanders). I continued fighting and won, finishing it quickly because I knew my hand was injured. It hurt, but broken ribs hurt a lot worse.

Having experienced both I'd hate either but choose a broken hand over broken ribs every time. With a broken hand I can still move and still have a spare hand.
With a broken rib movement is painful. Breathing is painful.
All depends on which kind of pain and suffering you can bear.

Haven't broken either but have sprained my fist whilst boxing and had some severe solar plexus shots. Body punches are crippling I'd turn southpaw if my left hand broke.

Well, common sense would suggest that broken hand is a lot better, you still have another and you're still able to move + adrenaline might help in case you still have to use it.

All I've ever broken is calvickle (horizontal shoulder bone), ****ing hurts :D forget about moving your arm for 3+ months and you can't turn your head without tears in your eyes for weeks :D Talk about being a Robocop.

    whats a broken hand?

I mean that is a very broad type of injury, the bones in the hand you mean? Which bones? Or multiple bones in the hand all at once?

I would say the rib is far worse,,,,then again it obviously depends on the severity of the specific break in question to some degree.

its not uncommon for a dude to hit the floor twisted in agony from a right proper broken rib.
