Beterbiev vs Barrera canceled ; Barrera bails from fight

That was my initial reaction in the thread...I've expanded more than enough about what I think is actually going on since then. I don't put this on Barrera, as I've said since that post.

Both he and Beterbiev are secondary priorities to the ongoing beef between GYM and Duva. I don't believe either man is a ducker.

 

Beterbiev/ Barrera would have been a good fight. Pity.

 

Figures. We all saw that coming from miles away.
Getting paid $68k for an almost certain KO loss isn't seen as good business in today's boxing, not even when an upset win would have put him in a great position and certain big payday.

Beterbiev can't catch a break. He needs to break someone else now.

 

Look at the huge amount of money SOB is losing by not fighting the rematch with Kovalev, who beat his arse....................Kovalev will win in court, SOB will give up Kovalev's titles rather than get his arse beaten again, only next time Kovalev will go ahead and knock SOB out. Hell, Kovalev staggered SOB with a jab, also knocked him down, SOB spent the rest of his time holding, trying to headbutt, low blows, etc., he knew his judges and referee were on his side...........

By the way, Beterbiev would have knocked Barrera out cold, no chance for Barrera............Beterbiev needs a new promoter, he is being cheated out of some good fights.........

The way he broke Tavoris up close was terrifying. There's not a chance in hell Ward will fight this guy

 

On the scene in a new article, Beterbiev is making clear that Barrera did indeed DUCK Beterbiev regardless of the excuse he gives. A 75-25 split happens as his promotional team lost the purse bid and now Barrera is asking for more money. Contracts were sent back to IBF and this fight was a 'go'.
Well at least Beterbiev will most probably be mandatory for IBF.

Everyone has shamelessly ducked Beterbiev in the rankings. This is why I hate these cereal box belts! Too many weak boxers who are 'ranked' by one of the belt organisations.

WTF, why does a fight with a exciting KO artist like Beterbiev pay so little? He's a KO puncher on par with what Tyson was, you'd think money wouldn't be a issue for his fights.

News came out that Barrera wanted +120k for the fight. His promoter accepted to give him an extra 12K over what he was gonna make but that wasn't enough and he said no mas.

 

Then don't come in here and say stupid **** you ****ing ******.

 

Wat the **** did I just tell you? Are you ****ing stupid? Now **** off **********.

 

Because Barerra gets 25% of the 300k after all his expenses he's lucky if he takes home 20k.
