Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo, Eubank Jr, Ward (168), Andy Lee...

All of those guys aside from Ward ducked or avoided a fight with Golovkin but that doesn't mean he hasn't fought crap opposition. Lemieux was decent but utterly one dimensional.

Hagler wins this fight, and I see no legit reason why anybody should say otherwise. Their resumes aren't even close to the same competition wise, so the argument ends there for me. I GGG fights better foes and does well, then I think the discussion can be had. Currently, I'm not seeing a discussion

To drill down for more data, I wonder how many who picked Hagler would acknowledge that GGG would be his best or 2nd best opponent ever at the middle weight?

Most think GGG would defeat Duran, and Hagler at times had his hands full with Anutofermo, and was actually being out boxed by Mugabi until stopping him.

Most here believe that GGG would beat Duran at 160. There was a poll a while back. No shame to Duran, he was a blown up lightweight ( where he was best )

But humor me, which Hagler defenses at 160 pounds were more formidable than GGG?

    I'll ask again.

Which were Hagler defenses at 160 pounds more formidable than GGG?

why would you need me to repeat? plumbing new levels today Dozy.

Anyone on Haglers resume who is at world level or above is a problem for 3G, which is most of Marv's title reign.

As opposed to most of 3G's title reign NOT being world level.

I agree. Golovkin would likely be Hagler's toughest opponent or at the very least in the top 3.

Likewise, Hagler would be Golovkin's hardest opponent by a stretch.

On the one hand Hagler had a higher overall level of opponent. On the other hand Golovkin has dominated his opposition to a degree that Hagler did not, as destructive as he was. It would be a very, very good fight.

I doubt "most people" would pick Duran over Golovkin at 160, Duran is capable of upsetting the odds but he would need to against GGG who would almost certainly be favoured. Hagler is another story….

Everybody thought GGG was sick on the day of the weight-in vs Brook.

Imagine him having to fight Hagler in that drained state.?? :jaja-no:

He'd be pulp'd within 5 rounds. This guy would campaign at 175 back in Haglers day. I don't see him doing very well at that weight.
He was scared of a 168 challenge not long ago.

is there an equivalent to a duran, mugabi, roldan, leonard...hearns in ggg's resume?
that should be the telling difference here.
