I'm going to get trolled but artur is very lucky this happened, sully was going to catch him at the end of one long, looping and telegraphed bombs and shock the forum. Beterbeiv has relentless and very dangerous offense but he leaves himself WIDE open and he's going to get Khan'd from his canelo very soon..

I was going to win huge on that bs, I got screwed here

A surruptitious remark from a two party translation, hosted in an obscure publication. LOL No, you still have the market cornered on ridiculous.

Perhaps you would care to discuss the bigoted statements from Barrera about Argentinian culture taken directly from his social media page?

This entire letter is unsubstantiated bull****. Both fighters have agents. Therefore, the letters would be between the two agents, not directly to the fighter. (dear, Artur) This is just a pitiful attempt to make Barrera look better. If Barrera wanted the fight, he would have fought. Had he won, he would likely be in line for a big time payday with the likes of Kovalev. But, as it stands, Barrera backed out, and we are robbed of a fight.

I think they've clearly been trying to get him to mandatory status for one of the belts. And I see no reason why Michel should have had to increase his offer to Barrera. If the money was insufficient, Barrera should have immediately turned down the fight and Beterbiev could have moved onto the next IBF ranked fighter. There's no haggling after a purse bid and it would've been irrational for Michel to offer any kind of increase.

    I agree 100% with this.

There isn't supposed to be any haggling, but all I'm saying is that Michel needs to do better at getting big fights for Beterbiev. It's not so much about this fight, just in general Michel has consistently failed to deliver.

Even about this fight: If this wasn't an eliminator, $80k would've been seen as a low-ball offer. There's no reason why Michel couldn't have gone higher to make the fight, it's very good for Beterbiev to get to fight with Barrera.

So this one is on Barrera and his team, but my point still stands: GYM are not pushing Beterbiev like they should. Look at Arum with Gvozdyk in the same division, his run of Mohammedi, Karpency, Chilemba, and soon Gonzalez also eclipses Beterbiev's resume in a much shorter time. Or Eleider Alvarez in the same division, who has fought Chilemba and Bute, and is lined up against Stevenson for later. Barrera has fought Ward and Shabranssky.

I mean I think the bigger issue has been Beterbiev's health as much as anything else. He was poised to be in this position with an eliminator way back at the end of 2015 but had to pull out of the Mikhalkin fight with a shoulder surgery. Given how so many guys have been less than eager to fight him in eliminators, I think it makes sense to try to get him to mandatory and then champion status as soon as possible. 2016 was a waste but I think it's hard to indict Michel too much for just that one year, and I'd say his wins over the likes of even washed up Cloud and Campillo still make for better wins than Mohammedi, Karpency, and Bute.

I can't agree with your predictions on the fight but I was hype for this due to we have yet to see Bev go more than a handful of rounds and his defense is one of the flaw I was talking about in an earlier post. I hope the replacement is a rough and tuff guy or we might just get another early KO from the Bee Sting

... And you may well or somebody close to Betrbiev or be one of those ignorants, who thinks there is absolutely nothing outside US borders ... Yes Sir, it was a Canadian paper quoting the GYM manager ... you know that country to the north .... or where you expecting a quote from the New York Times?

Well, Barrera said he wanted $125k rather than $80k, and would take the fight for that amount. I think it was worth offering it, the fight is worth a lot more than that.

    Here, although it's actually $74,500: $251,000 * 25% + $12,000

RDS.Ca is not obscure at all, really legit. They present a whole bunch of boxing fights. Russ Amber talks there sometimes. It is own by Bell media. It is the main sport chanel here in Quebec.

Anybody thinks Barrera really didn't receive a contract? I mean it is possible.
