Hagler-Sibson..well played. Definitely the Hopkins-Trinidad masterpiece as well. Hopkins and Bouie knew the one thing the rest of the world didn't and that's what made it so so soooooo god damn moving. The fact that none of us bought into it. Yet..and this is crucial.....B-hop remained unconvinced of Tito's reputation. He was gonna handle Tito and there was no other scenario. It was the ultimate underdog story...so much so that most of us didn't even catch on to it for a little while as it happened. As far as anything I might offer personally...Whitaker-Nelson. Pea-Haugen. And I really do believe the Nazario fight is all too soon dismissed as well. Pea was my man and...as flashy as the the Hurtado comeback was, the routine Chavez domination, the close win against a nearly prime De La Hoya...and even the loss to the murderous Tito with a broken jaw for 10 rounds...Nelson, Haugen and Nazario still stand out to me as world class wins that were never appreciated the way they should have been cause he was so naturally gifted.

Felix Trinidad vs Fernando Vargas. Tito showed a little of everything that night. Vargas was good then, real good. He didn't think he could be hurt. Trinidad showed tremendous power as well as supreme conditioning. When you rewatch that bout you`ll see Tito showing some finesse as well. He was outjabbing Vargas and giving him some angles, setting traps for El Feroz to walk into. Trinidad was a helluva Slugger/Boxer. That fight had everything.
Nelson fennich 2 brilliant .Prince Charles Williams v Bobby cyz Williams totaly batterd Bobby.Holy v Dokes .complete package.
I got to agree with you on that one. Hard to believe now but back then Chavez who was moving up in weight to lightweight to challenge the hard hitting and feared Rosario was actually considered the underdog in that fight. But Chavez gave arguably his finest most complete performance in his career as he totally dominated the brave but outmatched Rosario who refused to quit despite taking a sustained beating including a sickening body attack. The Chavez that night would have been more than competitive with any lightweight in history. Even a then prime Mike Tyson who was Rosario's stablemate at that time was astounded by how great a performance that was by Chavez.
Good call. I put that one up there with Hopkins clinic against Trinidad. It was Boxing 101. Buddy was smooth that night. He was shifty, he walked Simon into shots.
