A clash of two exciting vulnerable big puncher s, both involved in some good brawls in the 90 s. But who gets the win? Is Tommy a little to good or could smokin bert crack the chin of the Duke? 12 rounds and 3 knock down rule
Wow great match up, fans would love this one. The question is can cooper take that left hook in the first few rounds like mercer did. If he can, i see him stopping Morrison mid rounds. I would favor Morrison to take cooper out early, but wouldn't be surprised if cooper takes him out mid rounds after taking some nasty punches. Cooper was tough and could punch. I favor Morrison 65-35, i think he is faster, more explosive, better boxer who would get his punches first and has enough power to put cooper out.
Cooper might have hit harder than Morrison. If he came prepared and focussed (a BIG if) I would favor Bert. He was more dynamic and less stiff than Tommy.
Cooper at his best would win. Extremely powerful and pretty tough. The drugged out Cooper like in the Foreman fight would probably lose.
I like your analysis. I too would slightly favor Morrison, but a cooper victory is not entirely out of reach.. great matchup with lots of action.
Cooper on a good night would jump on Morrison . TM was hammered by Bent in 93 sec. Can't say TM wasn't prepared or motivated as it cost him a $ 8 m unification fight against Lewis. Cooper by 2 round ko. This content is protected
Bert was a more hot and cold fighter than morrison and it really would be which version came in to the ring. If it's the Cooper from holyfield , moorer or mercer fight he would give morrison a heck of a fight. Can see that bert walking through some crazy punches from Tommy and and taking the fight to him. Stops morrisons early on. If the other copper comes in, morrison goes on the attack early and Cooper end s up dazed and on the ropes till morrisons puts him down. I sense a Cooper victory with morrison been caught, hurt and down several times before it's called off.
Pretty close fight if we're picking prime versions. Morrison on pedigree I guess but Cooper would be a very live underdog. The version that went vs Mercer might just starch Tommy cold.
Vice versa also... Morrison just came out blazing against mercer, hit him with some devastating punches... I'm not sure cooper can take those shots as good as mercer did
But Tommy was very loose and fluid. He wasn't stiff in any way. Im going to say you are 100% wrong here if thats ok with you. Cooper would probably give Morrison hell and may well win but he was open to uppercuts and was knocked out by uppercut by chinnier guys than Morrison , so im going with a Tommy hook right hand uppercut combination knock out win here Cooper would blast out WK though. He was better than Peters. A lot better.
If you think Tommy was loose, you have a lot to learn about the sport. He was a tight widebody who tried to box by the numbers. There was no dip, no groove at all to his game.
