Lemieux is a good middleweight but who has he beaten to indicate that he would dominate Canelo? He's a good puncher, I liked his output yesterday he was all over Stevens from the start but Canelo wouldn't allow himself to be swarmed so easily.
That swarming style may or may not work vs Canelo; it sure as hell didn't work vs the likes of Rubio and Alcine, two inferior fighters to Canelo. This picture should be a lot clearer once we see how Canelo handles the likes of Chavez jr.
This. Lemieux has always had good power, but he is still tailor-made for a fighter that has timing and can counter punch. I think Canelo takes his time and stops him late.
Despite being physically bigger and stronger puncher, Lemieux rarely uses the jab, and I just don't see him on Canelo's level. I think Canelo has more trouble with true boxers like Lara and Mayweather than he would with true punchers that rely on power too much to win, like Lemieux. Ggg is a different story.
LOLZ Lemieux KO's a journeyman and all of a sudden the casuals think he will do the same to an elite fighter like Canelo.
Whats Canelo's best win? What top 160 pound fighters has he beaten? Do you realise what Lemmy would do to Cotto?
Very tough call, honestly. Canelo has the defense and counter punching to hurt Lemeuix but can take a punch? Can he maintain his defense throughout Lemieux's onslaught? Tough call, seriously I can't pick. Trying not to get high on Lemieux's recent performance.
Depends on what Lemieux shows up, we know Canelo gives it all 100% every fight, can't say the same for Son of Rubio
i like canelo in this one. all those slick little defensive moves that canelo likes to waste on smaller guys will come in handy vs lemi. canelo is a better boxer and ring general, if he can survive the first half of the fight, i think he will take over the second half.
